Re: Marching In Time

It took me a while to get into this album. I think because I just loved A Dying Machine so much it took a few good listens. And it’s true. This is definitely a Tremonti album. But it’s great.
Just wish they’d remix Cauterize.

Re: Walk The Sky Production Quality.

Maybe they could keep Elvis on as producer but send the mix off to someone else. That is what I've been saying around here since TLH mix was off. And yet, how can the Tremonti albums be so stellar in sound (minus Cauterize, which was horrible) It's funny, it was said somewhere else, and I'll add my...

Re: Walk The Sky Reaction Thread

To my ears, it isn't as loud as TLH. However, I'm still in the honeymoon phase, so we will see how I feel after a few listens. TLH can be exhausting to listen all the way through. Particularly songs like This Side of Fate, which has a lot going on. I still love the hell out of that song, but I have...

Re: Walk The Sky Reaction Thread

But it's sad that my favorite band in my entire life has stopped making music I truly enjoy more than any other competition. Now, I can't say that I think they do. It's not a bad thing, I mean, music is subjective. It's just depressing for me. I know what you mean, and this happens to all of us wit...

Re: Best and worst Alterbridge album

1 Fortress
2 The Last Hero
3 AB III
4 Blackbird
5 One Day Remains

Fortress wins out simply because it has MUCH better production than The Last Hero which was somehow muffled. If only the guitars, and all instruments, were easier to pickout in the mix, TLH may have won.

Re: Tremonti pt #4 - A Dying Machine

Great album, really is. Best sounding mix as well. Finally Elvis doesn't mess it up.
Just wish there was a way to hear, let alone purchase, Now or Never, since if you don't live in the USA and have access to a Wal Mart (no exclusives in Canada!).

Re: The Last Hero - AB Nation Discussion

Twilight it great. I don't have a problem with a single song....only have a problem with the incredibly crappy production. It's the best album they have that sounds like total utter crap. Hopefully they remix and remaster it like RUSH did with Vapor Trails (But I'd rather not wait 13 years).

Re: Lossless Alter Bridge Albums?

Yeah, I "found" the vinyl version, and it does actually sound better (slightly), however, I can't get over the "dust" noise from the analogue transfer through the grooves and needle (it kind of interrupts the quiet sections). Although, it does remind me of the good old days in th...

Re: Lossless Alter Bridge Albums?

Interesting to note also that they did not release The Last Hero on iTunes as an MFiT version. Yet they did so with Fortress. And the sonics between those two albums are astounding, with Foretress being amazing. Makes you wonder.

Re-Editing songs/albums by bands

I’m curious as to the opinions of people here, simply for discussion, on what you think of re-editing bands songs to more suit your ears. Is it “right”? Should someone do it? What’s your thoughts. Obviously it’s a free country so we can do it if we want, but I’m more curious about the variety of ans...

Re: Lossless Alter Bridge Albums?

@Flet : send an email to 7digital, and ask them to release the 24 bit version. Who knows, it may work, since they are in contact with the label. By the way, have you bought the 24 bit Fortress version ? @Crumbso : I think I've already mentioned that idea for possible deluxe editions. But don't get ...

Re: Lossless Alter Bridge Albums?

Well, they've released a 16bit version now on 7digital.com.... https://www.7digital.com/artist/alter-b ... ro-5809116
Now if we could only find out if they will release a 24bit version as they did with Fortress...then I'll spend my money.

Re: The Official AVENGED SEVENFOLD Thread

My only complaint is that it's a little too "soft" for my liking. I love some of the arrangements and how well the long songs flow (the bridge of The Stage being one of the examples). I just miss some of the heavier punch from songs like Nightmare. Definitely an improvement over their las...

Re: The Official AVENGED SEVENFOLD Thread

15 minute song, woo!!! Yeah, but it's only good for the first 7 minutes. I can't stand the second half. They ruined it. I just cut off the song and added space sounds to smooth it out. Much better as an all instrumental. As for the rest of the album, it's pretty good, but sonically it sounds like i...

Re: Lossless Alter Bridge Albums?

Hey, does anyone here have the vinyl version of The Last Hero?
And if so, is there an audible (and preferred) difference between the CD and the Vinyl?
Any insight would be very much appreciated.

Re: Lossless Alter Bridge Albums?

Too bad there is no "The Last Hero" hi res version.
On 7Digital.com, the Fortress album is available in Hi Res Flac files, however, how do we know it's a different master than the CD? That's a critical difference.

Re: Lossless Alter Bridge Albums?

People pay for free stuff....... Ok that is just weird to me. https://www.cnet.com/news/what-is-flac-the-high-def-mp3-explained/ Read this, may help. Again, if it's new, look up HD tracks, or Metallica's website itself...that's 2 examples. The word "Free" in an acronym doesn't not necessa...

Re: Lossless Alter Bridge Albums?

So is that list saying the The Last Hero is more dynamic than Fortress? Cos, no. No, that list shows that The Last Hero and Fortress are the same in dynamics. DRM 6. It clearly shows that the Vinyl versions of both are more dynamic. DRM 11 and 12 respectively. I'd just love to have a digital lossle...

Re: Lossless Alter Bridge Albums?

But going from DR5 and DR6 to DR12 makes me believe the masters are actually different, and by that, I mean more dynamic. It's a shame we can't legally buy those "unsquashed" masters. What's the harm ? It can only benefit the band and the label. 1 - Yup, it's the Vinyl one that seems to b...

Re: The Last Hero - Rhythm Appreciation

Flip has always been great, but he really upped his game on Fortress and has gone beyond that on The Last Hero to make the drums a really creative and dynamic part of the music. I could say the same for BMarsh, but I do wish that his bass was more prominent in the mix. Agreed on both counts. Flip h...
