Re: Pawns & Kings (Alter Bridge - VII)
Funny to see that Silver Tongue was actually a Myles' riff, I thought it was his but many of you thought it was Mark's so I ended up thinking that too. Totally agree, I clicked on that video so fast to get the answers. I really hope we get the song by song discussion from Mark and Myles on the rest...

Re: Pawns & Kings (Alter Bridge - VII)
Not sure if this has been stated already but do we know who's song this is? I always love playing that game. Myles bringing heavy riffs and Mark constantly bringing mellow tracks has made the guessing game more difficult last couple album cycles.

Re: Pawns & Kings (Alter Bridge - VII)
I am really enjoying this song. I love the last hero song vibes this one gives off. The mid section break down through mini trade off solos is pure rock gold. :rockon The chorus is doing what its supposed to and has really grown on me. I like a lot of the clever lyrics in the post solo sections. I a...

Re: Pawns & Kings (Alter Bridge - VII)
If I'm not mistaken, that is a Myles solo followed immediately by a Mark solo. Too early to form opinions but that heavy instrumental break is awesome. Love that. Yeah I think that is right. You can hear the tone shift at 4:16 for a quick 10 second Mark run. Definitely got last hero vibes through t...

Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers: Track 12
Wow I apparently really like song #12 on every AB album. Much like what has already been expressed this is the strongest group for me. I would take a handful of these songs over some of the other winners. *Edit - Even Save Me is solid although the weakest of the pack. That huge Myles note and sick p...

Re: Ranking Alter Bridge albums
Mine really are tiered. I tend to favor albums that have my absolute favorite songs, riffs, & solos over what album has more good songs but not as many of my ultimate top tier tracks. The A's are the album that has more of my absolute favorites and B's are the more complete albums with less skip...

Re: Walk The Sky Reaction Thread
First off it is great reading the various opinions about this record from all the different styles and things that everyone likes about AB. It really is a test to how good of musicians these guys are that everyone likes something different. I definitely fall in the camp that this record is not as go...

Re: Walk The Sky Reaction Thread
yeah I saw a couple of interviews from Mark talking about IoF. One he dogs the song pretty good saying "its not the best song on the record" and another he complains about the rhythm section being weird because his and Myle's style are so different. So I take it as Mark does not like that ...

Re: Walk The Sky Reaction Thread
I feel quite the opposite of that. TLH is still by far their weakest album and does not come near the quality of ABIII or any of their first 4 albums. Since the band play almost no TLH-tracks during their recent gigs, I think they feel the same themselves about TLH. That does not really mean anythi...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
After 5-6 listens it has already grown on me a bit. I was extremely underwhelmed on the first listen. Still my least favorite of the 4 due to pay no mind really climbing up the from the bottom. Definitely a Mark song in the line of his 80's rock attempts for this album. I definitely hear the slash c...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
Wouldn't You Rather > Take the Crown > Pay No Mind. Everything but the chorus is solid. The chorus is a throw-away. I think the outro is Mark, but maybe that's wishful thinking (as I wish he'd do more blues). I think that ranking is dead on. PNM has definitely grown on me but still the lowest for s...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
I like it although the intro riff has a very similar sound and structure to WYR. I had to listen to them side by side to hear the slight difference. All in all I like it, the lyrical content, and of course the outro. So whats the consensus another Myles song? Based off the title I swore it was a Mar...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
Yeah definitely not feeling this one. Talk about filler tracks. I liked would you rather out of the gate and like it even more now. The synths in this are cool but everything else is just meh. We’ll see if it’s a grower but I doubt it.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
Finally got a chance to jam it and that intro is a banger much to everyone's agreement. One of the more powerful instant grab intros I can remember in a while. The chorus does grow on you and I am ok with not every chorus being a catchy AB type chorus. It is definitely different and I can appreciate...

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
I totally disagree. You can't take anything away from songs like My Champion, Cradle To The Grave, The Other Side or The Last Hero (song). These are just a few of my favorites on the record. But for me personally TLH comes right after Fortress. Perhaps not mixing wise but the riffs, the choruses ar...

Re: Tremonti pt #4 - A Dying Machine
Would anyone be sweet enough to share Now or Never with a non-Wal-Mart-er? Was logging in to ask the same question... Lol How is the song? Have not seen any reviews on it, thought that was odd. You're not missing much, obviously not bad but makes sense as a B-Side - kinda generic. Desolation didn't...

Re: Tremonti pt #4 - A Dying Machine
I have to agree with E-Rock. Take You With Me is my favorite song Mark has written in a decade. And it's the one that sounds like Creed - the irony. What Creed song does that sound like in the slightest? Or are you thinking of The First The Last? What Tremonti song does it sound like in the slighte...
