Looks like there was a fun moment with a rubber duckie during Metalingus in Hamburg.

Re: Walk The Sky Production Quality.
I just wanted to drop in and say I agree with just about everything said in this thread. The songs are all masterpieces but are held back by some bad production. It is way better than TLH, though. I don't know what they were smoking then. I'd also agree that ODR is probably their best "sounding...

Man, I haven't been here in forever. I'm super impressed with the snappiness of the site. It's amazing how quick a site loads with no ad placements and good responsive design.

Re: ALTER BRIDGE - Live at the O2 Arena + Rarities
Finally got my 02 album. Loved all the B-Sides. Wish they could have spent more time mastering the new ones, but I'll take it. I could definitely hear the generation they came from in the lyrics and tonality. I did not like the live album. I feel like it was a step back from Amsterdam. Maybe it's ju...

Re: Songs played during Last Hero cycle.. so far
Needs more ODR and less BB. Otherwise, that's a pretty good "Greatest Hits" with focus on TLH.

For me it's:

Re: Noticing The Little Things On The Last Hero
I just realized that the song The Last Hero is a lot like Fortress - not just that it's the last song and the title track, but that it's going to be a grower. I wasn't blown away by Fortress the first time I heard it but even now, I still get more out of it every time I listen. TLH is already start...

Re: Noticing The Little Things On The Last Hero
-In Show Me a Leader, the band staccatos all the triplets in the chorus the whole song but doesn't staccato them the last time through. For some reason my brain wanted that to be reversed so it was a cool surprise. -The infamous Myles Echo was nowhere to be found in Breathe which was a pleasant surp...

Re: Breathe Appreciation Thread
Finally listened to Breathe this morning. Absolutely loved it. It was like a time warp to a great time. I kept listening for the notorious "Myles Echo" after each line and IT WASN'T THERE. It was like a breath of fresh air. It's also nice to hear Myles sing more in his lower register. I mi...

Re: The Last Hero - AB Nation Discussion
That's even more of the case here because of how ridiculously over-produced this album is. Every song is just so busy. I find it really hard to sort through all the layers and the wall of sound, and that's been getting worse since ABIII. It's unnecessary. These guys are the best musicians in the wo...

Re: The Last Hero - AB Nation Discussion
Hey Everyone! I don't really post on here much anymore (despite my 6000+ posts on the old site), but I thought I'd give my opinions on the album. Overall, I enjoyed it after a couple listens. Every musician was on the top of their game and it shows. Particularly Mark - I've never heard him play so w...

Re: "Show Me a Leader" discussion
I like how most songs make use of triplets for emphasis in the final chorus of a song. In Show Me a Leader, they reverse it and use triplets for every chorus except the final chorus. It's a neat change of pace.

Re: The Star Wars Thread (Episode VII Spoilers Inside)
I really hope Rey ends up not being a Skywalker. That seems like such an easy copout.
My hope is that she's either a nobody that's really force sensitive (think Anakin), or that she's a decendent of Obi-Wan. It's a silly theory, but her accent makes me think that she could be a Kenobi.

What is your default video player?
I'd install VLC and change that to your default. W8.1 works weird with defaults compared to others. It affects functionality in some of the weirdest situations.
