Re: LOVER is the next single

Oh and Macca, this might be another artist we mutually love. I'm loving it right now. Angry/depressed/beautiful/emotional lo-fi folk:

Re: All Ends Well

I actually do hear what you're saying Benny. Doesn't really bother me though, cause it's a more 'shiny' song, in a sense, so having the vocals gravitate more towards that is actually suitable to my ears. But I do hear what you're saying, actually noticed the tonal difference on first listen, but did...

Re: Favorite Lyrics (Shout them out, LOUD AND PROUD!)

Great thread idea! 95% of the time, my affection for a particular song/artist is predominantly due to their lyrics. For me, they're the most important part of a song. Hard to post excerpts, because these artists aren't one-liner writers, they tell a whole story with a song, and I don't want to start...

Went a while ago Jim, like 10 years ago? Anyways, I remember the Hulk and LOVED it.

And I literally laughed at the 152-153 progression.

Re: What should be the next single?

First off, I also hate radio edits. They're stupid. It's the typical American-consumerist-'quantity over quality' approach. Dumb. Having said that, let's realize that the radio singles, especially nowadays, are PURELY a marketing tool. Radio is NOT a venue for artistic expression. It's about marketi...

^Yeah now that you mention it, I think I've actually heard them reference that in an interview, being conscious in the studio of what they can and can't do live.

Re: What should be the next single?

I really think they could pull off Achilles or CTF with an edit. And it terms of having that 'radio-sound' yet still pushing the boundaries just a bit to get noticed, those two are the clear favorites.

Wooo AB!

Re: Orlando Show...and Myles' Voice

Yeah I see what you're saying Crumbs, and I think I could go for that. Then it got me thinking what if they just added a third guitarist permanently? That could be cool right? Like Explosions in the Sky, except harder with badass singing. Oooh and then what if they added cello?? I think they need me...

Re: Orlando Show...and Myles' Voice

Nah, I see what you're saying Crumby and I think I agree. Though, I don't think it's an issue for all the songs they play live, and I think the presence of a click track will noticeably help (trying to play and sing his parts at the same time is hard enough, but doing them simultaneously 20 BPM fast...

Catchy bridge. And I really like hearing a heavy riff in a major key. Glad it got left off though.
