Re: Walk the Sky Europe 2019 Tour w/ Shinedown and the Raven Age

Reflecting on this tour and looking ahead to the upcoming US run, I do hope they start mixing up their set lists a bit more. Looking at their sets from the European run, they opened with WYR>Isolation>CTL>PNM>GODGB at almost every show except the first two, where GODGB was preceded by either WK or C...

Lol that did leave some rather out-of-context posts in place :lol. I'm happy to move those as well if you like.

Re: Alter Bridge 'Walk the Sky' spring US tour 2020

Agreed! Hoping for a proper East Coast run later in the year. I'd also love for them to really cover Canada as Anguyen referenced they had expressed interest in doing. They should get back to South America too, with its passionate base of rock fans.

The Struts

Any Struts fans in here? My wife and I first saw them a couple years ago at the MMRBQ festival hosted by Philadelphia rock station WMMR each summer. They had an early slot but won us (and most of the crowd, I suspect) over with their engaging and dynamic performance. Not long after we saw them at th...

Re: What are you listening to right now?

I just listened to the first two Shinedown albums, inspired by the discussion in the AB fall 2019 EU tour thread. Great records!

Now I'm back listening to the Struts after seeing them in Philly a couple nights ago.

Re: Walk the Sky Europe 2019 Tour w/ Shinedown, Sevendust (UK), and the Raven Age (non-UK)

Again...interesting. Us And Them is widely recognized as the worst Shinedown album. In fact, I've heard Brent Smith mention that it was such a failure, they had to go in a different direction. They did with Sound Of Madness and it re-launched their careers. Interesting indeed! As mentioned, I reall...

Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers: Track 15

I voted for "Solace". Ever since it was released, I've considered it one of their top-tier b-sides. For some reason it really moves me. Maybe it's the nostalgia of the composition and production, having been recorded with ODR but released so many years later: Mark's clean guitars, Myles's ...

Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers: Track 14

Oh golly! WDDTW vs. Dying Light. I've got to go with Words on this one. It just elicits so many emotions... desperation, urgency, hopelessness, hopefulness, uncertainty... and the conversational vocals are one of the realest things AB have ever done. Dying Light isn't too far off. The Damage Done wo...

Re: Umm...no reason. Just a question...Because there aren't any b-sides.

Fun fact: it takes exactly one Walk the Sky listen-through to unfurl an artificial Christmas tree and decorate it with string lights. Does that include the obligatory annual berating with multiple readjustments when the tree is 0.37 degrees out of plumb in the y-axis? Yes, and the upper-half restri...

Myles performs "Hallelujah" on Jeff Buckley's guitar

I thought this special moment deserved its own post. On December 9, 2019 at the Olympia in Paris, Myles performed "Hallelujah" for the first time in a while. This time was special though because Matt's Guitar Shop had loaned him Jeff Buckley's own Fender Telecaster – the very guitar Jeff h...

Re: Walk the Sky Europe 2019 Tour w/ Shinedown and the Raven Age

Sucks for Sevendust and all the UK fans who were excited to see them! I hope Morgan makes a quick recovery. I saw he posted an update the other day when he was going into surgery. Silver lining, this should be great exposure for the Raven Age! It always blows me away to see pictures of the AB tours ...

Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers: Track 13

Got busy for a few days and missed voting on this one but it looks like my vote for TLH would only have given it an even stronger lead. I'm surprised at the variety of opinions in here about TLH! To me it is truly one of AB's next-level epics, and overall it flows great. Sure there are lots of parts...
