Re: The End Is Here?

My feeling is that AB is basically like home to them now - it's comfortable and welcoming, they'll always want to come back to it. But with that I guess you also risk losing an edge of adventurousness that you then have to seek elsewhere . '24 would usually be the side project year, so I guess a le...

Re: Acknowledging the birthday of one of the best songs ever.

Happy 1 year anniversary to the release of the song Pawns & Kings. Man, I remember when some of the Walk The Sky songs were less than a year old. Where did the time go? Of course, there's always gonna be somebody that says "I remember when One Day Remains wasn't even a year old. Where did ...

I bet that cover started as a joke because of Torn being songs by both Creed and Natalie Imbruglia.

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

Well, we didn't finish vocals on Monday because I was having trouble keeping steady pitches. So we agreed to go in again yesterday. And...vocals are done! Mixing will be on Saturday, and then we'll have to find a way to get the song onto streaming services. I can't wait for you guys to hear it! On ...

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

Excited to hear it. Does this mean I'll finally hear a song of yours that actually has bass guitar? :lol Yes, you will! :lol A few weeks ago, I played bass along with two of my demos, and my comment to it was "I can actually feel the songs now!" It makes such a difference. It anchors the ...

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

Well, it's finally happening. I'm going into the recording studio tomorrow to record my first single. Hope everything went well, maxim :cheers So far, so good. We're at dinner now and we'll be going back into the studio afterwards. Vocals and clean/acoustic guitars are yet to be recorded. Well done...

Re: What are you watching right now?

https://youtu.be/qEVUtrk8_B4 Wick 4 had some great fight scenes, but nothing beats the first one. :) Some of the scenes were awesome (the top-down house gun fight with the dragon's breath, the fights on the Arc du Triumph) but man is it too long. You could have cut the length of most of the fight s...

Still no Fable after all this time. I am disappoint.

Imagine they do a section in the show where they do Blackbird, Fortress, Fable. That would be incredible.

Re: FOO FIGHTERS!

I suggest you listen to it again. It was just as loud as any other album from that era: https://dr.loudness-war.info/?artist=&album=wasting+light It just proves that the whole analog recording is just some marketing BS. If you screw it up during the mixing and mastering phase, you've just waste...

Re: Myles Kennedy Signature PRS

The SE version might use full humbuckers too instead of the Narrowfields which makes it easier to swap other pickups. I think the Narrowfields require a bit of a unique cut for the body cavity. That's true. I've had an NF3 before and wasn't super impressed with the narrowfield pickups in that. Will...

Re: Myles Kennedy Signature PRS

Somehow in the UK they're charging £3000 :lol I know we usually just change the dollar sign to a pound one and say "woo currency" but not seen them actually inflate it even further before. If it really doesn't have a hardcase that's just nuts. I guess these would be made/sold in far less ...

Re: Myles Kennedy Signature PRS

Looks and sounds gorgeous from what I've seen on Youtube. I've heard some misspent gripes by edgy online gatekeeper/boomer types! I have NO problem with Paul Reed Smith creating his vision of a Telecaster whatsoever. I'm no gear snob... And if the signature model is collaborating and recognizing su...

Re: Live Sound Quality

So... basically terrible sound = purer experience and great sound = backing track driven arena experience? interesting. there's PLENTY bands with a raw oldschool approach that sound WAY better. literally every support band theyve had in the past years blew AB away. halestorm, mammoth, gojira. none ...

Re: Live Sound Quality

but the audience does not want to listen to what they sound like on stage. thats why there is a mixer and sound system. we pay money to see and hear a great band but their sound is terrible. its not 1982 anymore. Having said all that. I do appreciate how pure AB's approach is. What you're hearing I...

Re: It's big and old. We are small and fleeting.

That's awesome, Crumbso! And that is a freaking huge bike. I hope you had good weather. It's been all over the place in the US Southwest this spring when usually you can count on a lot of warm (but not too hot) sunny days with just scattered showers. Hopefully you're over covid and it wasn't too ba...

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread

I've just gotten back from the most knackering and intense work experience of my life. Me, a small town lad from the UK, ran my company's exhibition at a very big Las Vegas trade show. Aside from that stress, though, I managed to complete a small dream of mine and took a day to rent massive Harleys ...

Re: Live Sound Quality

I think it used to be worse around 5 or 6 years ago. They've always struggled with Mark's bass-heavy sound in larger venues. The riffs, especially complex downtuned ones, can sound pretty muffled. Myles' adoption of the Tele has helped a little bit and Mark moving over to his PRS amp seems to also b...

Re: The Movie Thread

I'm pessimistically looking forward to Oppenheimer. On one hand, that little section of science/politics/human rights/religion/conflict in human history, and how they all overlaid on each other, is about as compelling as there has ever been. On the other hand, I am worried that Christopher Nolan wi...
