Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

If you look at that video from the Tulsa show, you see a cameraman in front of the stage around the 2mn50 mark. https://youtu.be/IB1stZRU8PY So my guess is that they filmed a live video for the Higher Power single. They needed the song to be played just like the official version for obvious editing ...

Re: The Random Alter Bridge Thread

Been an Alter Bridge enthusiast since August 2004.
Weirdly enough, I listened to hours and hours of their music between the 3rd and the 5th of this month, which isn't usually the case.
Happy 20th birthday to the band, and here's to 20 more!

Re: Tremonti - Episode VI: Dusty Marching Machines

Mastodon-like vocals and longer songs.
Mark could pull it off and finally make Tremonti different from AB.

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

So Stapp is now using backing tracks and even lipsynching?

Jump at 1:25 if you have any doubt.

It's very disappointing.
Say what you want about him, but he's always given his all on stage.
If he and his band can't perform that song, then they should not play it.

Kudos to that fan for singing it with his whole heart! :peace

It reminded of those exceptional South-American crowds from a few years ago.

It's such a great song in an acoustic set.

His hope for his friendship with Mark Tremonti: "I know that Mark and I have such chemistry that even if we're at odds, we can still create an album like Full Circle ... I can't imagine what we'd create if there was a renewing of the relationship."

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

We've been saying this for 10+ years. Mark could easily give Creed a couple years if he wanted to, but I think he's just curious/anxious to see how Stapp's gonna behave off stage in 2024. If everything's good on a human level between the two of them, things could get back to normal for Creed. But it...

The voice is still very good live.

The drummer is ad-libing here and there.

Re: Scott Stapp Album IV HIGHER POWER

It does not have to be that way.
Same for the ridiculous brickwalling on every rock album since 1995.
Just because it's become the new industry standard does not make it right whatsoever for listeners.

Re: Scott Stapp Album IV HIGHER POWER

So much autotune on this track... I don't understand why producers do that, especially to singers who have such a distinctive voice like Stapp. Overall, I feel like Stapp's not playing to his strengths on this new album. It sounds too modern and generic, and I don't see how that could make him stand...

Re: Summer 2024 Tour and Summer of '99 and Beyond festival

Nah, he's just set in his ways. The Elvis thing is a perfect example. Pretty much everybody wants them to move away from that guy, but they don't want to fix what is not broken (in their eyes only). They'd rather keep playing it safe rather than make a leap of faith with another producer. As for the...

Re: Summer 2024 Tour and Summer of '99 and Beyond festival

I also wonder if Mark is going to bring back his clean tone, which is crucial to Creed's sound. I like Yannis a lot, but despite his technical abilities, he has never managed to recreate Mark's original tone. These days, there is zero conveniency or price excuse for not doing it, since all bands can...

Re: Summer 2024 Tour and Summer of '99 and Beyond festival

Remember when Mark and Flip were having a conversation about what differentiates Alter Bridge's and Creed's music? That was in 2009, and both of them had no clue. Well, since Blackbird, Alter Bridge has been a 2 guitar band, and on the first three albums, Creed was a one guitar band. That is one hug...

Re: Mark Tremonti Sings Frank Sinatra

I'm not necessarily a fan of some over the top arrangements of the Christmas album (I preferred the more laid back Sinatra approach from the first one). But man does Mark sing like a beast on it! I had no idea he could reach some of those notes, and I was actually blown away by his soulfulness on Th...

Mark's tongue slipped in that interview, and he talked about a third cruise.
I hope that new announcement is not yet another expensive cruise.

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

New interview from Stapp.

He talks about the Rangers, Higher Power, his faith, Creed getting back together ans his wife.

You won't learn much, except that Higher Power is a diverse album that sounds almost like a playlist.
