Re: Summer 2024 Tour and Summer of '99 and Beyond festival
Nah, he's just set in his ways. The Elvis thing is a perfect example. Pretty much everybody wants them to move away from that guy, but they don't want to fix what is not broken (in their eyes only). They'd rather keep playing it safe rather than make a leap of faith with another producer. As for the...

Re: Summer 2024 Tour and Summer of '99 and Beyond festival
I also wonder if Mark is going to bring back his clean tone, which is crucial to Creed's sound. I like Yannis a lot, but despite his technical abilities, he has never managed to recreate Mark's original tone. These days, there is zero conveniency or price excuse for not doing it, since all bands can...

Re: Summer 2024 Tour and Summer of '99 and Beyond festival
Remember when Mark and Flip were having a conversation about what differentiates Alter Bridge's and Creed's music? That was in 2009, and both of them had no clue. Well, since Blackbird, Alter Bridge has been a 2 guitar band, and on the first three albums, Creed was a one guitar band. That is one hug...

Re: Mark Tremonti Sings Frank Sinatra
I'm not necessarily a fan of some over the top arrangements of the Christmas album (I preferred the more laid back Sinatra approach from the first one). But man does Mark sing like a beast on it! I had no idea he could reach some of those notes, and I was actually blown away by his soulfulness on Th...

Mark's tongue slipped in that interview, and he talked about a third cruise.
I hope that new announcement is not yet another expensive cruise.

New interview from Stapp.
He talks about the Rangers, Higher Power, his faith, Creed getting back together ans his wife.
You won't learn much, except that Higher Power is a diverse album that sounds almost like a playlist.

Re: Who thinks they are writing a new album right now?
It all depends on Mark. Is he ready to put Tremonti on the side for a few months or even a year?
If so, that leaves a big window open for Creed.

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread
This feels surreal to see the 4 of them together after so many years.
Stapped seemed a bit emotional, which is understandable with everything that happened to him since the last time Creed was together.
They all look wiser and seasoned, which makes me think they won't blow it this time.

Re: Scott Stapp Album IV HIGHER POWER
- the breakdown riff is basically What if 2.0 It sounds nothing like it but okay. Listen to What If at 4:30. Then, listen to What I Deserve at 2:23. It's the same kind of riff, in the sense that Yannis will come forward on stage and bring the heaviness , just like Mark does with What If. They'll ha...

Re: Scott Stapp Album IV HIGHER POWER
First thoughts: - the solo is technically impressive, and Yannis finally shines on a Stapp song. - the breakdown riff is basically What if 2.0 - the cadence of the verses sounds off to me. The whole thing is a bit too wordy, and I doubt anyone will be able to sing all those lyrics back to Stapp. I w...

Re: The Official Art of Anarchy Thread
Bumblefoot can play guitar. But has ever written a memorable song? Not so sure about that. I also don't understand why he would have the same singer in two different bands of his. It doesn't make sense to me. The issue with AoA is that they're extremely generic, and the twins have zero charisma. The...

Re: Mark about a Creed reunion
Nulle Part Ailleurs (NPA) was a French show that had an insane list of rock and metal bands performances back in the 90's. Every day, around 8 p.m., you knew you were gonna listen to some great music on that show. Metallica, AC/DC, Prince, Page & Plant, Machine Head, Prince, Creed, KoRn, Deftone...

Re: The Official Art of Anarchy Thread
That song is indeed boring, especially if you compare it to the material they did with Weiland and Stapp, which wasn't mindblowing in the first place.
I already feel sorry for the new singer who's likely to get sued like the previous two in a few years.

Re: Summer of 99 Tour
I doubt anyone wants AB to end for Creed. But AB needs a hiatus more than ever: they seem burnt out creatively, and Tremonti is not the biggest band in the world, so I don't understand what's stopping Mark from giving Creed 18 to 24 months. It would allow him to write/record a great album and tour i...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread
I heard a classic rock influence on the first Creed albums, and it baffles me that 25 years later, both Stapp and Tremonti hire producers who try and make their music as synthetic as it gets. I mean, a rock song without an actual drummer?!! I can somewhat tolerate that for an industrial band like Fe...
