Re: The Random Alter Bridge Thread
I have to say, I have personally never had a lot of interest in live music, usually preferring album versions of songs (except if at an actual live show of course).

Re: The Official "Total Randomness" Thread
I think the only issue you can have in this day and age is slow charging. The device should manage the power coming in via the USB-C port to make sure nothing is damaged, but if the block is a low amp block designed to charge a small device, it may not provide as much juice to charge at maximum spee...

Re: Video Game Bonanza!
Anyone played Subnautica? Free on PS Store at the moment. Survival game where you crash land on an ocean planet and have to craft your way out, whilst avoiding massive sea monsters. Recommended! Some annoying bugs but can't complain for free. I paid money for this a couple years ago when it was sti...

Re: Alter Bridge/Creed/Mark Tremonti Tuning Master List
I take it back. If I was doing it for money corners would not be cut... and then I'd realize that I'm not getting paid nearly enough for the time I'm spending and would quit! As a novice player and customer, I expected perfect quality with tab books (didn't realize how difficult that is to achieve),...

Re: Master Tab List
Yes, they're not bad at all. I mean, if I'm striving for perfection it's less than perfect, but typically anyone who posts a tab to ultimate-guitar... a 4 star tab is as bad as it gets. Any tab author that tried at all will get you 90% of the way there.

Re: Alter Bridge/Creed/Mark Tremonti Tuning Master List
It's not like the songs have to be played in exactly the original tunings. For example, Mark's parts in Words Darker Than Their Wings are playable in Drop C#. This is the master tuning list thread. I think an official tab book ought to be in the tuning the band used and as much as possible get the ...

Re: Mammoth WVH (Wolfgang Van Halen) - Distance
It might be technically basic, but that song has some serious vibe to it. It seems to be in D. I might learn some more of this.

Re: The Cage - Soundgarden homage?
You know, I can take this to another level. I just tried to learn Rusty Cage for the first time and it's in Drop B (from standard). Tremonti's The Cage is in Drop B (from 3 half steps down; i.e. Drop D 3 half-steps down). So the tuning is very similar. Actually Rusty Cage plays very well in Tremonti...

No you’re right, the song quality is mostly beside the point!

Re: What Are You Eating/Drinking, Right Now?
Had Margaritas and mexican yesterday.
Today, a muffaletta for lunch from Jason's Deli. I'm not even sure people can get those very easy outside of Louisiana, but it's a perfect sandwich for me because I dislike most traditional sandwich dressings such as mayo and mustard.

I should give them a spin again. I enjoyed the first album but didn't like the second so much and have never listened to another album.

Re: Metallica
If anyone wants to know how to play One with extreme accuracy, check out my tab on UG. In the official book tab and consequently most other net tabs, the rhythm parts were especially bad with both wrong strings and wrong pitches. Some sections were completely busted (such as the part after the 3rd c...

Re: Ellefson (Megadeth Bassist) - Hammer Comes Down (featuring Mark Tremonti)
That kind of generic screaming vocal performance is something I could never get behind. When it comes to straight screaming vocals, Slayer's Tom Araya is unique and just about the only performer I can really enjoy. Phil Anselmo was pretty good with Pantera as well, even on later albums when he stopp...

Re: The Cage - Soundgarden homage?
I certainly wouldn't say it's awful, but it's less than fully realized and a bit awkward at times. Like any song from a good artist, some people will hate it and some will love it, and for most people it could grow on you if you give it a chance.

Re: Master Tab List
I added the best available Walk the Sky tabs to the list. Some of these have questionable parts and could use correcting, but it's all we have at the moment. I didn't post any that were obviously really bad.

Yep, probably just me then. I can see why someone wouldn't like the song. I don't like the chorus all that much to be honest, but the opening is really cool.

Re: What happened to the riffs?
I agree TLH is majorly lacking in catchy riffs. There are riffs, but they’re a lot more subtle. Walk the Sky is almost a return to form as far as I’m concerned. Plenty of good riffs there. In the Deep? Native Son? Indoctrination? Maybe there could be more, but it only takes 3 or 4 great songs to mak...

Re: Master Tab List
I added the first tabs by authors other than myself to the list (text tabs for Forever Falling and Indoctrination). There are limited tabs for Walk the Sky so far, so it's easy to just add the best one available. The earlier albums will require more scrutiny.

The Cage - Soundgarden homage?
First time I heard "The Cage" (2nd track on Dust) I felt like the opening guitar riff had a serious Soundgarden vibe going. And then Tremonti's voice is presented in a way that makes me think of Cornell as well. And the song name could be a reference to "Rusty Cage". Anyone else ...

Yes, his pinky is deliberately going to the 12th fret. However, I think I'm hearing the following notes, with the last 4 notes being harmonics: ------------------ ------------------ -----9-------9---- -7-----9-7-----9-- ---7-------7------ ------------------ Maybe he's hovering his finger over the 12...
