Re: Books/What are you reading?

I have! I did a few years ago, so I don't remember it very clearly. I did like it quite a bit though. I still find it interesting that science fiction as a genre, which is generally perceived as being male dominated, was actually started by a woman with that book. Women rarely get their credit in hi...

Re: Slash ft. MK & The Conspirators "WORLD ON FIRE"

I wasn't interested in this album until I saw the cover. Now I'm going to have to listen to it. I love the cover, I actually think it's one of the best album covers I've seen! I think on the whole many people on this board are so used to the standard post-grunge serious tone to music that anything r...

I feel so out of touch lately. I had heard of it but the first I saw of Watch Dogs was in a commercial. Like a TV commercial.

Swans - To Be Kind http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/85/Swans_To_Be_Kind.jpg 10/10 I rarely give albums perfect scores but I can't bear to give this album anything less than that. Swans are masters at what they do and no one is even approaching whatever it is that they do. It's like they ta...

I'm not gonna lie, I love tumblr. It's by far my favorite social media website. It's the most customizable site so every experience is unique depending on who you follow. Your dashboard could be entirely populated by posts from photography blogs, writing blogs, online journal type blogs, politics/ph...

Re: The Game of Thrones Thread.

^I actually just started watching it too. I've only watched the first two episodes though. I'm not quite hooked yet but with all the acclaim, I'll give it more of a chance. Just have to wait for the netflix discs to arrive.

Re: The Movie Thread

That actually sounds really interesting. I don't read much comics but I find comics history to be pretty interesting so I'll have to look into it. I didn't mean to conflate the eras by the way, but that is what comes to mind for me. I actually like the Miller/Moore dark realism stuff but only when i...

Re: The Movie Thread

Really? I'm obviously no expert but I figured those original detective comics or whatever didn't have anything like that. Seems too edgy for the time period, but I don't know. This is mostly what I think of when I think of old batman: http://31.media.tumblr.com/903ee082f37555dca7b1fe9d61533a70/tumbl...

Re: The Movie Thread

I can just feel the dark gritty angst streaming out at me. I know this was sarcasm, but Batman is a dark and gritty character, and he always has been. That's why this image is awesome. Well, I mean, if we're counting Batman from the very beginning with the first comics and Adam West then no, he was...

Re: The Movie Thread

^I'm interested in people's reactions to that one. The first one got a lot of divided reviews. Some liked it a lot more than Raimi's vision in the other trilogy and some hated it (I was closer to the latter). So far, I've heard it's a slight improvement or that it's an extended and convoluted advert...
