Re: Myles ranked AB albums from best to worst
AB III is filled with average songs. I've never understood its good reviews, especially after an album like Blackbird. Average songs? Wow. ABIII is in my all-time Top 10 fav albums. Not a single filler song on it. Even if they left off the only two “average” songs on it, “Breathe Again” and “Life M...

Re: Unpopular Opinions - Alter Bridge Edition
Tremontis last album was the worst one he has done. None of the songs connect with me. It really feels like another run of the mill hard rock band. I expected them to continue in the way of ADM, being more progressive. I don't know if I'd say it's the worst, but I will say I expected more. It's a g...

Contrary to this board’s opinion:
Losing Patience is a great song.
The Last Hero is their 2nd best album.

Re: Alter Bridge - VII
You know what would be a fantastic thing to put on special editions? The pre-production demos. Soundgarden included pre-pro rehearsal recordings on their Superunknown anniversary edition releases and they were awesome to listen to a more rough-and-ready take on things. Hopefully we get the two trac...

Re: Alter Bridge - VII
At my current job (software engineer) we literally pay people to criticize our projects, so we can improve it. Fans of the band have been addressing the production issue over a decade now. You still stand by the final product, but you're acknowledging those fans that are passionate (aka critical) a...

The albums? Yes. They were released 11 months apart. Not sure about the production time periods.Blackbirddd wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 3:27 pm I’m not sure about this but I assume that Dust and Cauterize songs were recording in the same period?

Re: Alter Bridge - VII
Since Mark has signed off on such poor sounding AB records since 2004, what is your opinion on how Mark's solo records sound? They're even more flawed than the AB albums. The song Cauterize is a perfect example: everything is overly compressed and muddy. Yuck. Elvis can do alright with softer mater...

Re: Alter Bridge - VII
You may be right about all of that, but why does Mark insist on staying wired in concert when nearly every other guitarist has gone wireless? He said, “I can tell the difference.” If they “absolutely don’t care,” why continue to walk around with a cord attached? Force of habit. I don't buy that bec...

Re: Alter Bridge - VII
I find the Elvis discussion fascinating because I don't think I've ever seen a review which has singled his work out for criticism. I only ever see it on this forum really. I'm genuinely curious - are reviewers/journalists in the music world not especially good at critiquing the production side of ...

Re: Alter Bridge - VII
They change guitars nearly every 2-3 songs in concert. That's because they use different tunings. Plus as well-noted on “Wouldn’t You Rather,” Elvis pushed Myles to make it better, so Elvis is a motivator. It was rather Elvis who pushed for something like 'Wouldn't you Rather' at all because the so...

Re: Alter Bridge - VII
In other words, they care deeply about how they sound. They absolutely don't. They write great songs, no one can deny that, but they sound really bad, both live and in the studio. As I've said here before, I can't think of another top tier rock band who sounds so bad, again and again and again. Som...

Re: Alter Bridge - VII
I was merely pointing out that Elvis pushed Myles to make the song, specifically the chorus, better (regardless if it’s an average song or not). That tells me he’s a motivator and doesn’t mind pushing a well-seasoned musician all the while maintaining professionalism, respect and friendship. Comple...
