Re: New Stapp Album/Single

This album sounds like it's gonna be bubblegum garbage. Cookie cutter modern rock without any edge. I'm still have some slight hope for 3 songs though : Proof of Life, Crash and Dying to Live. The other ones sound awful. Jesus Was a Rockstar may still be a hit on Christian radio though, but this who...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

Indeed, he got all the blame, and he he still does, when Michael was the one to blame in the first place. As a member of Creed, Scott had the right to refuse cross promotion, but he made a HUGE mistake when he thought he could actually do it for his own stuff.

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

Thanks Them Bones. I know most of the details, but in my mind, Creed twitter and facebook should focus 100% on Creed and nothing else. No exception for Alter Bridge. No exception for Tremonti. And no exception for a book or a Stapp CD. Stapp should apply to those rules, but he doesn't. The fact that...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

It should be no big deal. But Scott made a big deal out of it when the other guys were trying to promote their other material on Creed's social media accounts. He can do it, but they definitely can't. I know there are some label issues, but still, he should have avoided doing it. Even with creed's f...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

I wonder if he's still going to do Creed songs on tour. Now that he has a second album he has more than enough material to do without creed. Of course he will. He's Scott Stapp, and in his mind, he's Creed. He's using Creed's facebook to promote his album no one cares about, and I think he's aware ...

Re: Outright

It's growing on me a lot, whereas I'm getting a bit tired of the album.
Outright is the kind of song that reminds me of early Alter Bridge : it's catchy as hell, but neither metal or cheesy. They excel at this kind of stuff (or at least they did a few years ago).

Re: 'Fortress' on the charts

@vmt7007 : I'm sorry, but selling a couple more thousands units is not a dramatic increase. Those numbers are still pretty low when you compare them to other rock/metal bands. Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold are doing 150-200k. Even the deftones are doing 60-65k. Right now, they're pretyy much in the sa...

Re: Addicted To Pain - Chart Performance

Some first week sales predictions from Hits Daily Double. They're pretty much always dead on :
Miley Cyrus : 250-270k
Korn : 40-45K
Alter Bridge : 30-35k
Stone Temple Pilots : 13-15k

ABIII sold 27k in its first week.
With such numbers, who knows, they may well land in the US top 10 this time.

Re: Outright

Indeed, it sounds like a mix of ODR and Blackbird.
The solo could definitely be on ODR.
But overall, the songs seems a bit more cliché than the content of those 2 aforementioned albums.

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

About that Yahoo article. The song came so organically ," Stapp said. "We began to share and trade stories and talk about where we were today as opposed to where we were 10 years ago. And through that conversation, lyrics started coming . Scott and I grabbed our guitars and the song was bo...

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

This website is a joke, right ? He's been hyping it since mid July, and in the end, there is only 1 page where we can buy stuff ?!!! Not even a picture of the singer, and no info whatsoever about the content of the album. This is beyond lame. I can't say I'm surprised, because this new album promoti...

Re: Proof of Life first week sales predictions

When you release albums in slower months, it helps you get bigger numbers on the charts, and those numbers are pretty much the only thing promoters look at when you're building a tour. So basically, Stapp shoots himself in the foot with this november release. He would have charted higher if he had r...

Re: Proof of Life first week sales predictions

November 5th.
It's pretty much one of the worst weeks of the year when you're a small artist. There is way too much competition, and media won't care about you in the slightest way.

Re: WTF Scott Stapp ???

@AB23 : the chorus does grow on you. Give it a couple of days, play it in your car, and you'll see it's quite catchy. At least, it's way better than the other previews I've heard on the audio review that was deleted a few days ago.

Re: Proof of Life first week sales predictions

So far, it looks as everybody is expecting this album to bomb big time. I don't care much whether it tanks or not (it's not my money after all), but considering Creed is pretty much on permanent hiatus right now, I can't understand why Stapp isn't putting more of an effort to make an impact as a sol...

Proof of Life first week sales predictions

How many copies do you think the new album will sell in its first week in the USA ? Human Clay sold 315.000 copies in its first week Weathered sold 887.000 copies in its first week Full Circle sold 111.000 copies in its first week The Great Divide sold 94.000 copies in its first week And since we're...

You are kidding yourself.
They will never make it in America.
If it were to happen, it already would have, and you can already bet they're gonna play 500-1000 clubs in 2014.

Re: New Stapp Album/Single

The chorus is probably better than the ones we could hear on TGD.
But TGD's songwriting is still better, and so is the production IMHO.
I've listened to this album recently for the first time in years, and it's better than I remembered.

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread

What a stupid move of theirs.
They do nothing promotion-wise for weeks, but they sure as hell will delete any snippet in just a matter of hours...
It's not like the music was impressive in the first place, but I had a weird suspicion this review would be deleted very soon.
