Re: Performance Videos

Your voice is sounding really solid on this one dude! And props for playing in bad weather. Back when I did marching band in high school we had to perform in cold rain one time, it was such a miserable experience. My hands were almost numb by the time we were done. Thanks man! Yeah, the weather was...

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

It just isn't loud enough. There really isn't an excuse in 2018. A good mixer knows how to properly EQ an arrangement like that. Use in addition some simple side chaining and it would've been perfectly possible to make the orchestra louder without overpowering the band. This. It could have just bee...

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall

I think the biggest issue here is that AB didn't adjust their guitar tones for playing with an orchestra at all. Mark especially plays with a lot of gain these days, which makes things muddy. When you pair two gain-heavy guitars with an orchestra, it's going to be difficult for that orchestra to cut...

Re: NEW! A Glimmer of Hope

It's nice to hear Mark would be open to it. I kind of figured the chance of it happening were next to nothing after Stapp had his breakdown a couple of years back. Glad to see Stapp doing better, though, and I certainly wouldn't be against hearing these tunes.

Totally agreed with both of you guys!

I would love to see Steve Perry on tour. I really hope he does a small one, at the very least.

Re: New Disturbed album as Myles version of Sound of Silence

I'd love to hear them do a real Studio verson, with Draimon doing the Garfunkel Melody rather than both of them doing the Simon melody. If I remember correctly, Myles was singing a third above the Simon melody most of the time. It doesn't sound bad, but I really wish they would do the original harm...

Steve Perry Releases First New Song in Nearly 25 Years

The voice is back! Sounds about as good as I could hope considering he's almost 70 years old.

Re: Why does AB ignore much of ODR in its live set?

That's what I said in my earlier message. Mark is apparently still practicing a lot and writing all the time, so his playing should be even tighter than it was in the past! I think it's a bit of a complacency issue. You get so good to a point where you don't really think about practicing your funda...

Re: New Slash/MK Album On The Way

Thanks! I really love that song. My EP I'm releasing soon is gonna be 5 original songs that somewhat pretty pop rock-ish, reminiscent of late 90s / early 2000s stuff like Vertical Horizon or Lifehouse. I'll definitely be posting it on the "Musicians Unite" sub-forum here if anyone's intere...

Ah gotcha haha. Click the YouTube link in my signature for that. It just has some cover songs for now, most of them old. But I'll be putting up my first EP soon! :yes

I'm not trolling!! (besides the playful shot at Jaded Rescue lol.) It is so bizarre to me that people cannot hear how the :40sec note and others so clearly edited. It sticks out like a sore thumb. It sounds so artificial and unnatural. How can you not hear that?!? Do you guys just not listen to liv...

Re: AB VI Speculation

More does not necessarily mean better, though. It could , but it doesn't always. One song where I think the instrumentation helps a song a lot is in the Lifehouse song called Between the Raindrops. It ultimately uses almost twenty different instruments throughout the song. https://youtu.be/dG6-bU6e...

Re: AB VI Speculation

I read a lot about TLH being too much of a sound wall to many users here. But I learned that the more you listen to each song, the more details and the more "musical finesse" you get out of the songs. Same with the RAH Addicted video. The more I listen to it, the better I can hear the orc...

Re: Mark's sound in live recordings

It's an issue with what Mark thinks sounds good on his amp. I think it's the biggest issue. He used to have an amazing ear for clean and distorted tones, and it just doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Exactly. I remember him speaking in interviews about how he doesn't like to use in-ears, but use...

Yea, 'cause he can't pull off his old tone basically.
I think he can, it's just that he chooses not to because it kills your voice. It's much harder to sing that way night after night.

Re: New Slash/MK Album On The Way

Pretty boring and average song. The pitch correction is off and sounds unnatural on certain parts. Can't wrap my head around the Standing reference. 4/10 for me. Where are you hearing pitch correction exactly? I figured they were recording to tape again like they have been. Its blatant at the 40 se...
