Re: Summer 2024 Tour and Summer of '99 and Beyond festival
Think about this: They add Myles Kennedy to the opening card where he mostly plays Mayfield 4 songs for the sake of the 99 tour. But he also works in some modern solo material. Later on when Creed plays, Myles comes out and they all start to play together. It's a duet between Myles and Stapp - an or...

Re: Summer 2024 Tour and Summer of '99 and Beyond festival
The technology for digital guitar sounds has come such a far way though. The old Line 6 Spider amps were pretty crap sounding, but compare that to their Helix unit today and the sound quality is unreal. Tbh, I've never understood the hate for the Spider - I owned it in the past, learned how to play...

Re: Summer 2024 Tour and Summer of '99 and Beyond festival
In a band mix the guitar tones from digital and analog gear today are pretty well indistinguishable like you said because of how far digital tech has come with guitar amp simulations. When you’re playing isolated guitar tracks in a room you can tell a difference though just based on how the two ope...

Creed is a one guitar band excuse me?!?!? https://i.imgur.com/EBJyqR5.png You just made me spit my coffee out. Legendary stuff. Nah, he's just set in his ways. The Elvis thing is a perfect example. Pretty much everybody wants them to move away from that guy, but they don't want to fix what is not b...

I'd rather there was only four of them this time without Erock throwing random blues licks all over the place.

Re: Summer 2024 Tour and Summer of '99 and Beyond festival
Awesome news. Unfortunately I don't think I'm going. I would have considered it if it was Creed and Daughtry together, but the Tinely Park show has 3 Doors Down and Finger Eleven as support. So you'll miss (mostly probably) once-in-a-lifetime chance to see Creed because you don't like the support a...

Re: The Official DREAM THEATER Thread
This is probably the biggest prog news of 2023 to be honest.
I'm only hoping that the album they are writing with him is going be a return to form from the 2000s after a series with half-assed records with Mangini.

I've also listened to it. They've been getting a bit too poppy and commerical lately for my taste but Sharon's voice and the vocals melodies are outstanding.

They've had a full album worth of ideas for a long time now to be fair, if I'm not mistaken.

Re: The Official SCOTT STAPP Thread
It's hard to hit a good solo career when you don't master at least some 3-4 instruments, he barely plays a guitar. Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, David Gilmour, ... uhmmmmm... Mark Tremonti? But I kinda get your point. You should be able to pla...

That's a bit confusing to be honest, looks like Yiannis contributed a bit more to What I Deserve versus Higher Power.

I wasn't a Brexit supporter anyway but I thought that at least they could limit the damage if they got a decent trade deal. This is just pathetic. The fact that the British government doesn't care just highlights how on another planet they really are. I have mixed feelings about Brexit. I thought t...

The import/export process for the UK and EU. I had to drive a van to a trade show in Amsterdam, Holland from the UK and the process was beyond ridiculous. For a 2-day trade show. I spent maybe a full working day on the admin and customs processes; 4-8 hours on paperwork (hard to even calculate with...

Tesseract's new album War of Being. It's pretty banging although not really innovative in any shape or form. There are serious hints of their first album on it and it's a good thing.
