Alter Bridge will never garner wide radio airplay. Myles does not have a radio voice. Most of us realized this after Blackbird. I think Myles performance in the verses in "In the Deep" is the best of all the 4 songs so far but I'd give the best chorus to "pay no mind" or "take the Crown"

On the new Tool album:
I appreciate that Tool has strong musicianship and will experiment but I feel like it's way too mellow and that all the set ups never pay off, especially Maynard's vocals. He is capable of so much more but was kinda monotone the whole time.

First impressions:

Some thoughts on some comments here. I too don't understand why some "rock" radio stations are more willing to play Ed Sheeran more than AB (cough* WMMR in Philly). Now I give Ed Sheeran credit, he is better than a lot of the garbage on pop radio (programmed drums, snaps, claps, monotone)....

I like the use of the lower tones in the new songs (TLH was a bit nasaly for much of the album) but we are missing some of those incredible highs. I like songs that include a wide range that go from the low to the high (Broken wings)
