That's because everyone already knew as far back as track 1 that Blackbird is going win in the track 8 match.

Re: BATTLE OF THE TRACK NUMBERS: TRACK 07

I understand people thinking WL is cheesy, but ILM is one the most sincere lyrics I've ever heard, far from cheesy for me. Like I said, I think WL is a far greater example of cheesiness, but I do think there's a little bit of it in ILM too. My mind might change on that overtime though. I've had a f...

Re: BATTLE OF THE TRACK NUMBERS: TRACK 07

Calm the Fire easily. The opening section is probably the single best performance I've ever heard from Myles and the rest of the song is scorching. I love it. In Loving Memory and Wonderful Life both deal with a very emotional subject, but they come off as a bit cheesy to me personally, more so for ...

Easily Broken Wings. Probably the best song off of ODR, IMO, and I rank the other options as being among the weakest off of their respective albums (especially Before Tomorrow Comes).

Crap, this one will take awhile. I really like all four of these options. It's probably going to come down between Metalingus or Coming Home. Maybe The Uninvited...? Crap, this one is really tough!

Like, way way above it
Nah...Lover is way way above Buried Alive and All Hope is Gone. Burn it Down may be a bit closer, but Lover is still better.

Re: BATTLE OF THE TRACK NUMBERS: TRACK 04

Wow, this was extremely hard, as well. Burn It Down and Buried Alive don't stand a chance against the other two songs for me - but All Hope Is Gone and Lover are both simply awesome. AHIG has one of my absolute favourite solos in it and just makes me feel good every time I hear it, but Lover probab...

Re: Analog recordings?

I would like to see that happen, yes. Analog recordings are really genuine. It'd take a good amount of time to record it, but I wanna hear the unsophisticated AB album, some raw, dirty sounds and stuff. If they ever agree to do it, I'd be all for it. Yeah, that'd be fantastic if they were to do tha...

Yeah, I saw it too! Apparently it's only going to be digital though! :/ I hope they make a physical release for it soon!

Re: Fryshuset, Sweden | Oct 29th 2013

too bad the crowd sucked ass...that performance was brilliant Wouldn't really blame it on the crowd. Lover is a good song but its not a song that you jump up and down to. I'm not sure how well it will translate live. It's literally the most boring live song they have. There's nothing the crowd can ...

Re: The Official MASTODON Thread

They're quickly rising up the lists in my book! I've been listening to Leviathan, Blood Mountain, Crack the Skye and The Hunter over and over for the past several days! I still need to check out Remission at some point too, I guess. :)

Re: BATTLE OF THE TRACK NUMBERS: TRACK 04

Lover, easily. It's the band's best ballad by far, with Watch Over You being a distant second place. I liked it a lot the first several times I heard it, but it has just continued to grow on me more and more and more. I definitely hope the band does more songs like this one on future albums!

I'm just getting into this band, but they're absolutely amazing! :D I think I'm liking Blood Mountain the best so far out of their albums.

Agreed. BiD is almost definitely my favorite 'rocker' that the band's ever done. Can't go wrong with the Apocalypse! :headbang Plus that Opeth-esque bridge and Gilmour-ish guitar solo? Perfection.

Which album would you guys recommend starting with first if I wanted to get into this band? :) I'm kinda familiar with a few BB songs, but I'm just a casual fan.

Noted. I like that you described it as his darkest. Definately scored points with me already. It's a brilliant film. The script for the English dub was done by one of my favorite authors, Neil Gaiman. Here's the trailer for the film, if you're interested. However they pronounce "Mononoke"...

I have never watched any of the genre. But I love movies. And people keep teling me that I need to see Akira. If you ever want to watch a full-length anime film, my highest recommendation would be to check out Princess Mononoke. That film is insanely epic. Almost definitely the darkest of Hayao Miy...
