I have a feeling something special is in store for Paris. They got the Calm The Fire live debut back in 2013, so who knows what's happening tonight.

Seriously?

We need Watch Over You and Come To Life back ASAP. Also, we need some new songs. On the Walk The Sky tour, they live debuted Forever Falling at the 11th show. Since the Madrid show is the 11th show of this tour, could they maybe finally pull out Stay?

These setlists are bullshit - they are promoting a new album and only playing three tracks from it.

Full setlist:

Silver Tongue
Addicted to Pain
Before Tomorrow Comes
This Is War
Brand New Start
Isolation
Wouldn't You Rather
Burn It Down (Mark on vocals)
Pawns & Kings
Metalingus
In Loving Memory (Acoustic)
Blackbird
Cry of Achilles
Rise Today

Encore:
Slip to the Void
Open Your Eyes

Literally been the same set list for years besides the 3 P&K songs. Disappointing.

So many great tracks - it's really disappointing indeed to say the least.

Given the structure of the setlist they have currently, here's what I would do. Keep a few permanent songs and rotate the rest. Note that I might not like some of these songs, but I think they're logical choices to keep in the set rotation.

1. Silver Tongue
2. Addicted To Pain
3. Come To Life/Before Tomorrow Comes/The Other Side/Ties That Bind/White Knuckles
4. This Is War/Dead Among The Living/Holiday
5. Broken Wings/Ghost Of Days Gone By/Brand New Start/Lover
6. Isolation
7. Native Son/Wouldn't You Rather/Take The Crown/Pay No Mind/Crows On A Wire
8. Burn It Down/Waters Rising/Forever Falling/Stay
9. Pawns & Kings/Fable Of The Silent Son
10. Metalingus
11. Watch Over You/In Loving Memory
12. Blackbird
13. Rise Today
14. Cry Of Achilles
15. Slip To The Void/Show Me A Leader
16. Open Your Eyes

They should leave out Rise Today as well. So many better songs than that for them to play.

Definitely. Though I like Rise Today, I am over hearing it. I usually have been skipping it the past couple of years. It's become stale and boring to me live. I would like to see them rotate Blackbird/One Day Remains songs out for newer ones or drop them for a good amount of time honestly. I want to see more newer songs, heck even more off Walk The Sky since that tour was cut short due to Covid.

Probably since the AB3 touring? I’m sure they averaged 6 or 7 new songs back then.

Probably so. I mean, I get they have 7 records now but good lord, mix it up! Fortress is their best record and they play ATP and COA. Bleed It Dry? Fortress? So many songs that are so much better than the same boring Blackbird songs that they play night after night. I don’t see how people go to 10+ shows consecutively, I’d get bored.

To be fair, I'm not saying they should stop playing songs like Cry Of Achilles and Addicted To Pain. After all, they ARE my two favorite songs from Fortress and are both in my top 5 Alter Bridge songs ever. I'm just saying they should vary the setlist more than 1-2 songs per night. They did a pretty good job of doing just that in 2017.

I've heard that Metallica and other bands have used local Spotify streaming statistics to decide which deeper cuts to play in different cities. I wonder if Alter Bridge ever considered this. In fact, If I recall correctly, they were asked about it in an interview and they didn't give a straight answer as to whether they liked the idea or not.

Yeah I agree about the setlists. I have tickets for Cologne and Amsterdam. I've put my Cologne ticket on TicketSwap. Trying to sell. I hate that venue and one time this stale setlist is just enough for me.

I’d be very surprised if Tim didn’t already have access to that info.
