OKAY, so, a cinnamon roll hug is where everyone gets in a line, all facing the same way, and joins hands. Then, one end of the line stays still while the rest of the line progressively and tightly coils around them, like a spiral (see fig. 1). Once everyone is all coiled (thus slightly resembling the same coil shape of a cinnamon roll), you all sqquueeeeezzeeee and hug towards the center.

Other than all the normal physiological comfort of a hug, it's like a whole process to do a cinnamon roll hug - part of its appeal probably.
