A TABN Christmas
A TABN Christmas
'Twas the night before Christmas and on TABN
Not a member was posting, not Macca nor Jim.
Tour dates for the US still were up in the air.
I surfed for signs that Alter Bridge might still play there.
Ryan and Harry and Tom were in bed
While visions of sig king awards danced in their head.
And Lotha, and Decay, and Timo, and Min,
And zaz, Kev, and AB23 had logged off by then.
(& Andy, AHart, ODR, AB4L, Ubik, Inconq, Brian, JW, Nick, Nyte, Ax and the rest of my friends here)
When out on the street there arose such a clatter.
I sprang from my iMac to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash.
A band is in town? Meh. It’s probably just Slash.
The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow
Reminded me why bands skip Colorado.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a huge tour bus and a truck full of gear.
With a little old roadie with a long gray pony
I knew in a moment it must be Ernie.
More rapid than groupies his road cases came
And he whistled and shouted his band out by name.
On Myles! On Mark! On Marsh and on Flip!
Let’s make this the best show on our US trip!
To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall!
Now rock away, shred away, head bang away all!
Greg, we’ve come to your house and we’re gonna play,
‘Cause you’re our best fan in the whole USA!
And up on my housetop Alter Bridge flew
With all of their gear and some sweet pyro, too!
And then from my roof I heard nylon strings
It was Cry of Achilles that Myles perfectly sings.
As I banged my head and was thrashing around,
Down the chimney Tremonti came with a bound.
He was wearing all black and a Projected tee.
He put his foot up on the monitor by me.
With his signature PRS slung cross his back,
And Brian and Flip rocking out in the back,
His face, how it twisted as he shredded away!
He grinned something wicked as he started to play.
The lasers and spotlights filled up my eyes.
I wondered why anyone had asked of Mark’s size.
Flip held his drum sticks tight in his fist
And B Marsh made thunder no one could resist!
They played all of Fortress and all ABIII,
And Blackbird and ODR and the Bsides for me. (F U Windup!)
The tempo was perfect, a right kick ass band!
And I cheered like a madman and gave them a hand.
Myles winked his eye and adjusted his rig.
It soon gave me to know this was my private gig
I sang all the words while AB rocked away
And DC3 filmed it all to sell it someday
Then throwing me horns and a pick at the close
Mark gave a bow and up the chimney he rose.
He walked to the tour bus, to the band gave a shout
And they boarded the bus and the gear got packed out.
But I heard Myles sing as they rounded the bend
An AB US Tour? This is not the end!

Look at all those rhymes.
Show off.
Why are Ryan, Tom, and DH in bed together?
Merry Gregmas!

You should never come this way
To test the hands of fate
You don't belong here

I like how instead of just replying, Decay quotes the entire poem.
