I have a new contract in Phenix City Alabama! The compensation is awesome and they are providing me with a luxury apartment including furniture and dishes! :) I’m praying all goes well!

Are you a travel nurse? I'd never heard of that city before today

A classic delicious traditional everyday New England fare joke.

Not gonna lie. That clip of the message from his dad at the end killed me.

Yes. I usually do 13 week contracts.. if I love an area I usually have the option to renew for another 13 weeks. Phenix city is known for a pretty high crime rate. The “o”is left out to distinguish it from Arizona. I did ensure I am staying in a safe area. It’s right near Columbus,Georgia. Hoping to explore Georgia a little more while I’m there... get inspired hopefully to create again. This year has been very hard.

Better to get lost now than when you have to pick your internet friends up from the airport and they never let you live it down!

Grace Potter is up for a Grammy for Best Rock Album and Best Rock Performance. As much as I love Grace Potter, this album is probably her least "rock" sounding album and I would definitely put WTS over it for the nomination. The Grammy's are a joke.

Other than Grace Potter, I don't think I've even heard of anyone nominated for best rock album or rock performance.

I did see that one of the rock nominees was also nominated for best alternative performance. WTF?

#GrammysAreAJoke

edit: actually I have of course heard of Fiona Apple, the one who also got the alternative nod, and I know Haim is an all female group, but can’t say I have heard anything by them.

I'm out of touch with everything and I don't really care. I don't listen to bands because based on the fact they win awards or not, so stuff like Grammys, VMAs, even friken the Revolver Golden God Awards they used to host. That means nothing to me.

Apparently Thanksgiving weekend is prime spammer season. I'm realizing they're creating accounts that look like real names and switching up a letter or two. I'm recognizing a few names... I don't like being on a name basis with spammers.

Thank you, couldn't remember "Grogu." Now I will! And if I can't, I'll just call him Greg.

Speaking of which - IT'S GREGMAS SEASON!

Goodhue: In The Ashes - Listen, Buy, Rock!!

Post by gbruin »

Hey TABN peeps - one of our earliest TABNers, Jon Goodhue, just released his most recent solo album, In The Ashes, and it freakin kicks ass. Think of Alice In Chains with a tiny bit less grunge and bit more Alter Bridgeish melody and and flow and you've got a good idea. Jon wrote, played, and mixed the whole thing himself because he's talented AF (I keep hinting at a guest rhythm guitarist gig but I think he knows how below average I play).

Jon has put out a lot of music with 3 prior solo releases (under Jon Goodhue) and with a couple bands, Thrillrazr and 3 By Design, and it's all been outstanding, but I think this is really his best project so far.

Give one of our TABN bros some support and check out his latest on your favorite platform:

I feel like I’ve been absent on here from my relatively normal posting... so, quick life updates.

1. Back to being furloughed as of two weeks ago. Gyms in Washington state closed so I’m back to being home all day with my 9-month old pup.

2. I’m looking at leaving my current job and starting my own Consulting firm. I already have one client I will be doing financial consulting for which would be a fully-remote gig if they contract me on a full-time basis. A “name my price” consulting gig sounds like a good change of pace.

3. I’m looking at leaving my current job managing Personal Trainers with 24 Hour Fitness because the company cut my team’s salary by 40 PERCENT. They cited high trainer salary as the reason for filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. A company that blames labor for their bankruptcy can’t admit to failure in their own operating model or can’t admit they have too much overhead. Not only did they cut my team’s salary by 40 percent, they promised to raise their salary at the beginning of next year, which I found out from a company executive that they will not fulfill that promise.

I’m enjoying my time off for now, and am looking forward to this new opportunity to start consulting. It will start on an extremely part-time basis but if I impress, I can quit a job that I hate, negotiate my own pay, and move anywhere I want. Things are looking up!

^^ Sounds like a nice smooth way to have a change of pace in life. Godspeed then.

As for me. Still working at home. Still taking advantage of Grubhub deals (got $7.00 off an order of pasta at Corner Bakery Cafe, last Sunday). Stopped playing WoW for two weeks due to mental fatigue from the game. Uninstalled it and then reinstalled it after two weeks to check out the Shadowlands expansion, and now I'm back to playing a lot of hours of WoW, but at least, I'm enjoying the grind so far.
