At almost 29 years old and after living in a motel room for the past two damn years, my lovely fiancee and I are finally signing the lease on our first apartment this Saturday.
:cheers :rockon
Congrats! I have been there and know what it's like to struggle and claw my way back up. I'm not in a great financial state again after making some stupid personal decisions which cost me my job and my fiance. So the rebuilding stages begin again. It builds character I guess.
Oh, the joys of being young and still having your parents pay for things....

Anyway...It's been 3 years since the world ended. Congratulations, everyone, on making it this far.

Is it plagiarism if I use certain lines of a band's lyrics in a song that is a tribute to them?

I would probably say yes, but it depends how generic that line is.

I meant using nongeneric lines from many songs by a certain band. Something like Volbeat did with Elvis's songs in their song Caroline #1.

EDIT: Well, I guess I answered my own question. Volbeat had to get permission to release that song. I should do the same with my song.

In a small venue called the Garden Amphitheater near home for Matt Nathanson. Tickets were cheap and the show is close so why not?

Just found out I'm going to have to miss out on the UK Download festival Metallica and Alter Bridge day because of a trade show with work :facepalm

It's in Las Vegas, which is a minor plus, but damn I was properly excited about that.

Seeing AB in a bit! The place they’re playing at in Houston is attached to some shared workspace/art hall/ food court/small shop mezzanine thing. Pretty cool, had no idea something like this was here.

Funny that you mention the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Thursday at lunch, my friend (who's an Alter Bridge fan) and I were talking about those sandwiches and how different the ones in Nashville are from the knockoffs they make in Platteville.

And have Rocky Mountain Oysters, which you won't find in either Houston or Nashville

If you move to Denver today like you you were hinting at once, you could see AB with me tomorrow at the (relatively) new Mission Ballroom.

:lol don't think I'll be able to pull off a move in that amount of time! Prices have done nothing but rise since I was out there. I was looking at relatively small places to begin with, now the price per sq/ft is ridiculous! True for everywhere right now though :shrug

I think that's the refrigerator. The point of the microwave is to do it fast!

Either way, a quick Google search shows that someone already stole your idea in 2015 so it looks like you'll have to come up with something else :D

Just move into Jim's room and take over the bottom floor. Jim's touring the world lately and is too busy to come here anyway.

I just wrote up my thoughts in the AB P&K Tour thread. Short answer: It was great, but I'm used to AB being incredible.
