Someone posting for the first time here in a new thread saying “hello. Me and my girlfriend need help. I am from France.” Is spam right? I haven’t blocked it yet because it was so borderline and wanted to see if they posted more. They posted that 3 days ago and haven’t posted since :(

You thinking time traveller seeking help against 1940's nazis who happened to fall in love with Alter Bridge?
(the time traveller, not the nazis. although if nazis hear Alter Bridge, maybe history would be better...)

You know. I didn't think I would have so many concerts planned with the West Coast trip to see AB approaching, but some tickets showing up on Groupon and some Holiday Hangover deals at Ticketmaster helped me get some more shows to see. Here's my list so far.

Alter Bridge with Clint Lowery and Deepfall opening - The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco, CA. February 23rd, 2020.
Alter Bridge with Clint Lowery and Deepfall opening - The Wiltern Theater - Los Angeles, CA. February 24th, 2020.
Alter Bridge with Clint Lowery and Deepfall opening - The Moore Theater - Seattle, WA. February 26th, 2020.
Alter Bridge with Clint Lowery and Deepfall opening - The Knitting Factory - Spokane, WA. February 27th, 2020.
Apocalyptica and Lacuna Coil - Mayan Theater - Los Angeles, CA. May 11th, 2020.
Shinedown - The Wiltern Theater - Los Angeles, CA. May 14th, 2020.
Alice Cooper with Tesla and Lita Ford opening. Hollywood Bowl - Los Angeles, CA. May 31st, 2020.
Matchbox Twenty - FivePoint Amphitheater - Irvine, CA. September 24th, 2020
Nickelback with Stone Temple Pilots and Switchfoot opening - FivePoint Amphitheater - Irvine, CA. September 25th, 2020.

Joella and I just got back from a really important trip.

On Thursday we flew down from NJ to Baton Rouge, Louisiana so I could meet my biological father, grandparents and brother for the very first time.

I won't go into details about the backstory here, because it is CRAZY, but man, what a special trip this was. My biological father and grandmother have met me before, when I was a newborn, but my grandfather and brother never have. My brother also has special needs, so the whole situation really confuses him, but when I walked in the door and he saw me, it was one of the most important moments of my life.

The trip was really special, really eye opening, and a life altering experience. I just wanted to share that with all of you.

Guys, I have a problem. Can't stop buying concert tickets despite some minor financial setbacks. I can't help it. Since then, I've added two more shows on my list. Disturbed and Staind on the same bill and Coheed & Cambria.

That's really awesome, Micky. Very happy for you to have such a positive and meaningful experience - and very cool of you to share that here.

Peace, bro. :)

John5 is really weird and really amazing.

Post by gbruin »

So I went to see Queensryche, one of my all-time favorite bands, 2 nights ago, and John5 was one of the openers. I knew he was a highly regarded guitarist who'd played with Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson, so I assumed he was a bit of a strange dude, but I really had no idea what his live solo show would be like...

Uh...wow. Inflatable Halloween/carnival themed props. Video screens looping clips of horror/monster/cartoon/macabre scenes. Creepy makeup. Drool. LED lights in his mouth. No lyrics. Balloons. Guitars with lights and liquid in the body. Bizarre movements. Strangest concert I've been to, probably, ever.

But man, can that weirdo fucking play guitar.

That's an amazing story, Micky! Really happy for you that you got to meet your biological relatives and that it went well.

Well, I guess now's the time to bring up the fact that my trip up to the Pacific NorthWest is in about 1.5 weeks and I have no clue what to do in San Francisco, Seattle, and Spokane on the days I'm there and the days AB isn't playing a show.

I did that plenty of times in the East Coast trip. I want to feel like I've indulged into some form of culture that only those cities have.
