I never thought you'd be one to post a meme on this board.

On that subject, I hear there's no ballads on the album and that Inamorata is 11 minutes long. What a letdown. We haven't had a proper Metallica ballad since The Day That Never Comes and The Unforgiven III. I'm getting worried about this album after hearing Screaming Suicide and If Darkness Had A Son.

I’m not really sure how I feel about it either. I liked Lux Aeterna (not bothering with the symbol on my phone lol). I dig 72 Seasons just as much though. I’m holding off purchasing it until after it’s released.

I can meme with the best of them, young man. Even if the references are 20 years old :lol

The Metallica song is very 'meh' to me. Every song on this cycle feels very unambitious. They're all mid-paced, all just steady chugging, no interesting twists or turns and absolutely none of the ferocity that really makes Metallica interesting at their best. Feels very by-the-numbers.

Crumbso, I have to agree with you. There's a lot of repetitive, forced sections of their songs. And to be honest, it's nothing new. They've been doing that for a very long time, and it's why I've mostly fallen off the Metallica train recently. I must say that Lux Æterna stands out as the best of the four songs.

On an unrelated note, the lineup for Rock The Park in Ontario was just announced. Volbeat headlining, Papa Roach, and Halestorm. WHAT A LINEUP. It's something worth making a roadtrip for, although I doubt I'm actually going to do it. Now if only that lineup would play somewhere else that's closer....

While walking to dinner, I saw a guy wearing a shirt that said "SHAKE N BAKE". It made me think of Shea.

And once again, I predicted the future. Volbeat and Halestorm will be touring together in July and August, with Bad Wolves as the opener. There's three shows that are moderately close to me: Dubuque, IA on July 15; Milwaukee, WI on July 28; and Gary, IN on July 30. Well, I have to play a show on July 28, so the closest one is out. (And we just scheduled that show yesterday! If only we waited! :facepalm) Dubuque and Gary are both about 2 hours away from us. We're going to one of them for sure. No question about it.

EDIT: Halestorm is only with them for Gary, IN. Bad Wolves is with them for the other two. I thought it was all three on every date. Well, in all my excitement, I should have checked all that info. So either we're going to Gary, or we go to Dubuque and I settle with only seeing Halestorm once this summer (in Milwaukee on August 4).

EDIT 2: Gary, IN is 21+. I guess our choice is made for us. Dubuque, here we come!

EDIT 3: My mom had a crazier idea. Kill two birds with one stone and make a roadtrip to Sioux City, Iowa to see both Volbeat and Halestorm. However, she then doesn't want to also go to Milwaukee to see Halestorm headline. And there's no way I'll be able to convince my parents to take Ashton on a 7 hour roadtrip. Well, I guess I got my wish to see both bands on the same night, but now my goal is to convince them to also go to Milwaukee and take Ashton with us.

EDIT 4: Well, I guess we're not going to Milwaukee. The show was rescheduled for August 9, and we will be in Serbia at that time. So we won't be able to see Halestorm headline as soon as I thought. The next headlining US tour they announce will probably be in support of the next album, which means it probably won't be for a while. This and the fact that Alter Bridge are playing in Milwaukee while we're in Serbia (on supposedly their last trip to the US until, hmm...probably 2026) are major gut punches for me.

The worst part about the glorious thing about playoff hockey is that you hope that a game for a series you follow is not on the same day as a concert. Well, for me, today is that day. Kings are going against the Oilers for the 2nd straight year in the first round of the playoffs and Game 3 is at home today.

That said, I'm going to the Forum to watch Gojira and Mastodon and I honestly cannot pass up on a great touring bill like this, so I'm just going to resort to checking the scoreboard in between songs throughout the night.

Just got myself a Toyota Prius III 1.8. My very first own car that I don't need to share with anybody (cheers to my lovely sister). It's hybrid, it's got automatic gearbox (pretty obvious to our US friends), reverse parking camera etc. Still plenty to discover and learn how to drive into my small as fuck garage without messing out the bodywork.

Is manual/stick shift still the standard/popular in Europe? I was looking for manual cars when I bought mine several years back but it would've had to be special order to get it.
