This hinges, clearly, on Andy's role. He is the Know It All, and as Lotha correctly (and suspiciously?) immediately pointed out earlier on, now that we KNOW he is the Know It All, all we need do is follow his word and the game's over. Right?

Wrong. Andy is no longer purely Andy, all round good-guy. He is now Schrodinger's Andy (see Fig 1, below).

Fig 1: In native habitat

If Andy had remained unobserved, his role as Know It All would have remained pure. He would vote for Miles or Udon each day, provide some hints, and everyone would have a fun time. No need to dig himself into holes with lies and draw attention to himself. But now that we know he's the Know It All, his role has fundamentally changed. He is no longer under any threat, as we know he's not mafia. He cannot be indoctrinated. And furthermore, he now has incredible power over the rest of us. He can basically tell us who to vote for, and we'll do it. But I put it to you that Andy has no intention of finishing this game quickly, and instead is going to lead us on a wild goose chase for his own depraved entertainment. The very fact we have now observed who he is means his nature has fundamentally altered and HE CAN NO LONGER BE TRUSTED.

Consider than Inconq has gone to immense trouble putting this together. She even recruited me, a veritable newb, to join. She just wants everyone to have fun by being highly suspicious of one another. Would Andy really let it all just fizzle out, like a particularly disappointing bomb? Or - would he put himself among the pigeons to see how we scatter? Even when we found out after the first ex-communication that he was lying - he could still have his fun with no danger to himself. He'll tell the truth eventually. He just want to watch the world burn in the meantime.

So why did he vote for me, the newb? That also lies in his ability as the Know It All. Consider that he knows all our roles. Now, I am not admitting to having any role here, the following is purely hypothetical - he knows how many interrogators there are. After he was himself interrogated on day one, he would also know that, if there was only one interrogator, they had now used their only move. As he is still, fundamentally, all round good-guy Andy, he will only vote someone out that has already used their power and thus won't miss out on much of the fun. He is devious, but he is also benevolent.

But given he also knows who the mafia are, he still needs to keep an eye on them. The mafia will have been panicking when Andy was revealed as the Know It All, that this kind of mob justice would probably unfold. So just maybe, he contacted the mafia to do a deal. He'll let them live for the first day, but after that all bets are off. All they needed to do was help it along a bit. So who might be the real culprit, you ask? Well:
Lotha wrote:Well, this one's pretty different than the standard mafia.

And yeah, that's a good find. But he can still be converted, right? Which, obviously, makes him a prime target for Miles and Udon.

Edit: oh, my b, he can't be converted. So this is actually ez pz now -- all we gotta do is listen to what Andy says. Who do we excommunicate? :D
"EZ PZ NOW -- ALL WE GOTTA DO IS LISTEN TO WHAT ANDY SAYS."

IN BLACK AND WHITE, GUYS.

NOTE ALSO: The pretence that she doesn't know the roles properly. Nice try.

This is a set-up, plain and simple.

Vote: Lotha
