ugh... i've been seeing this for years... and i just saw it recently on here (can't remember the exact place though), but "each" and "other" should never be put together! when saying it, it's NOT eachother! as i'm typing it, the red squiggly line is popping up under it, so HELLO! It's WRONG! It's "each other"! I would love to know what caused this to become common place, but it's prevalent EVERYWHERE!

Inspired by DC3's latest post via Jared...

"You now know that the decision to pull that was not ours, so please bare with us while we fight to get this to you guys in the near future."

Bear/bare, as a verb:

Bear: to tolerate or carry a burden, be patient with;
Please bear with us while we get the box set stuff finalized. (what DC3 meant to write)

Bare: to disrobe and get naked;
Hey, Kate Beckinsale, bare with me. OMG, yeah....
Another photobucket casualty... :(

I'm going to grammar Nazi the grammar Nazi. There's an error in the OP... "effect" is a noun, not a verb. :shifty

You should also add "here" vs. "hear". I notice people screw those two up a lot as well.

I know too many people that should take a look at this thread for their own benefit.... :lol

Effect can be a verb, as in "The whistleblower tried to effect change", but I didn't go back to the OP to see how it was used.

I work directly with three other people. We intentionally talk in a horrible southern dialect, adding in words, apostrophies and pauses where they don't belong. It's a long ten hour work day, lol. So if any of it bleeds through onto these forums, I apologize in advance.

Aren't you near the Ozarks? Are you sure that it's intentional with everyone?

It's not "akward", it's AWKWARD! Just something I saw online right now and remembered how many times I've seen it misspelled like that.

I've always had problems with spelling necessary. Finally, I've somehow imprinted on my brain that it's two S's, not two C's. Anyone else had trouble with that? :D

Yea, I have trouble with words like that too. I often use Google Translate when I post on this board, just to be sure of some words. I'd hate it if zaz caught me making awkward grammar/spelling mistakes ;) I think I make more mistakes than I'm aware of though..

Another word I always seem to spell wrong is 'jealous', no matter how many times I look it up, lol.
