Field general brees will handle himself in the absence of coach. We really just need someone to call timeout and throw challenge flags lol.

Well we achieved one of the largest blowouts in NFL history last year in a game that Sean Payton was not present in. I like our chances. Saints are as legit of a superbowl contender as any other team in the NFL.

Broncos.
I'd say Colts, but I just don't think they'll play as well as the Broncos this year.

Don't get me wrong, I love Peyton, but he's no Elway. Especially not at this point in his career.AB23 wrote:oh denver found a replacement id say...
He's both a strong and a weak spot for the team. We saw that last year with the Colts...
I really don't think he has much time left. One good sack could end his career.

Re: 2012 NFL Football Thread
I'm hope so. No one can doubt PFM's credentials. Where it goes from here is another thing entirely. I'm not worried about his neck or arm, although I agree with Thrav that he probably is down to 3-4 great years left. But I'm far more concerned with the team around him. New England has routinely beaten Denver something like 40-10 the last few years. Can Peyton cover 31 points?AB23 wrote:oh denver found a replacement id say...

Greg, did you see how bad the Colts sucked without him?
Hopefully that should give you some confidence.

Green Bay Packers. That is all. Carry on.

And how good did the Colts look with Andrew Luck? I watched Luck batter my Bruins around for 3 years, and I still think there will be a learning curve in the NFL. But...wow.

Re: 2012 NFL Football Thread
Oh I know it man. Both Luck and RG3 have tons of potential. I hope both of them have great careers. It just makes for a better league when there are more good QBs.
And this is great:

Re: 2012 NFL Football Thread
The Colts are doing good with him. I mean, he's new to the team, of course it's going to take some time to really get settled in, but I think he was a good pick. I doubt they'll make it all the way, but there's always a chance...gbruin wrote:True.Andy92 wrote:Greg, did you see how bad the Colts sucked without him?

Re: 2012 NFL Football Thread
The Colts will have to battle to make the playoffs. Luck will be good, but let's not jump to anything yet. He got 1/3 of his stats in his first game from a screen pass lol. In the AFC...I'd say the Colts can hang around 8-8 or 9-7.

Re: 2012 NFL Football Thread
It's too early to really tell. I want to watch them play with Luck some more before I decide on anything. You can't tell all that much from one game.

Re: 2012 NFL Football Thread
Can't tell much from any preseason game. I start evaluating guys for real at week 1. I mean, the Lions went 5-0 in the preseason the year they went 0-16.

Re: 2012 NFL Football Thread
the patriots went 0-4 the season they went 16-0. preseason doesnt mean shit towards the regular season. playbooks are very limited, starters only get a couple possessions, not as much enthusiasm and i could go on. the only reason i like preseason is to see how good our drafted players are looking
