Dream Theater - In The Name of God.

Typo :facepalm

Anyway, I'm listening to All Hope Is Gone right now. You can say what you want about AB III but those first four songs were chosen so well.

I still think AB III has the best beginning section of all 3 albums. Slip to the Void is my favorite intro (I know all you Cry of Achilles nuts will disagree :P ), Isolation is a heavy hitter, Ghost of Days Gone By is a nice ballad type song, and All Hope Is Gone is another heavy hitter that's pretty underrated in the grand scheme of their catalog.

I always prefer playing that CD while driving to work because I can only fit about 4 songs in on the drive. :lol

I agree, though I think the beginning of all their albums are really good.

I've made this playlist of AB III containing 10 songs. It goes straight from I know It Hurts to Coeur D'Alene, lol.

For the most part all of their albums do start on high notes. ODR probably has my least favorite beginning though...I love the middle and end of that album more compared to how it starts.

FTR - ODR - OYE is really strong as well imo. It kinda slows down with BID, even though I still like that song.

I'm not the hugest fan of ODR the song to be honest. I love the lyrics, but I don't love the instrumental part. I always thought the guitar riff was obviously hard to play, but not exactly musically pleasing to the ears tone wise lol.

The bridge is one of my favourite AB moments. I really like the rest of the song as well.

Speaking of AB III; after obtaining the Box Set; I obviously now own all the CDs so I put AB III.5 into my stereo at home while my parents were gone for the first time i've ever heard AB on stereo-quality sound....HOLY SHIT! what have I been missing all this time! The bass was soo much more prominent and the sound was much better (obvs). Can't wait to hear Fortress on Stereo-quality next!

Your sound setup makes a big difference. I've got a 5.1 setup in my room...huge difference compared to listening to an album through headphones lol.

Well whatever my set-up is; it's awesome when AB is played loud on it! :lol

MP3s on my iPod Touch or through my iTunes on my computer. But that CD sounded even better than MP3s through good-quality headphones.
