New Megadeth. It's a great album and a welcome return to form but obviously doesn't hit the same heights of the Friedman/Menza era. Kiko is great but the guitar solos don't have the same melody or flamboyance of the older stuff. I also really do miss Ellefson's bass. It had more presence in the mix and really reinforced the riffs with some clank..... oh yeah, and Dave's voice just isn't up to that much these days.
I still love it! 😊

This song has one hell of a riff and Dave still has an ear for a great hook with the whole '..... yeah, yeah' thing at the end of the vocal lines. It's Megadeth's best album since United Abominations for me.

I agree! I love it all.

I was hoping to see them in Daytona this year but we were evacuated a few times and they got canceled due to the storms. I will get another opportunity hopefully! 😊

Tried to get into Starset but couldn't. Found out that Dustin Bates had another band before Starset, and that Starset reworked some of their songs. Now I'm hooked to Downplay.

This is close to being my favorite song of the year, though Queensrÿche's Behind The Walls probably has it edged out right now.

Sarayasign - Throne Of Gold

Another photobucket casualty... :(

I've been listening to a lot of When the Levee Breaks and this cover on Youtube that features John Paul Jones, Susan Tedeschi, and Derek Trucks is pretty good.

I've been in an angry mood today for no reason whatsoever, so I decided to put on Breaking Benjamin's Ember trilogy as it was the angriest thing I could think of. This led me to listen to a whole bunch of Breaking Benjamin.

Here is my favorite song from the Ember trilogy, and it's also one of my top 20 favorite songs of all time.

That’s fascinating to me. Why did you seek out angry music to match your emotion? Would it not be better to go for something lighter? :)

Sometimes it's better to get all the anger out. Just like when you're sad, it's better to cry so you don't feel sad anymore.

True. Sometimes it seems better to try and properly experience and lean into the emotion instead of resisting it.

Now I'm curious what would happen if cops started playing Raffi's "Baby Beluga" at rioters...
