There's been a lot of DOPE LEMON on the radio in the school cafeteria this morning. I can't help but think that his voice sounds a lot like Tom Petty.

Also, does anyone here listen to Atreyu?

Hoo boy, have you got a lot of great material to wade through. I would say, start from the beginning and either listen to the first two albums or start from the Bruce-era and begin with Number of the Beast. For the first 5 or 6 albums, they didn't put a single foot wrong.

I guess I better get busy then. 😊😊

gbruin wrote: Tue May 02, 2023 11:29 am No band ever has been so great for so long as Iron Maiden. 17 studio albums, 10 of which are fantastic top to bottom, and the greatest live album ever: Live After Death.

(yes, of course this is opinion)

Seeing Maiden live somewhere in South America with those insane fans would be a bucket list item for me.
I saw them in Texas several years ago... really fantastic live show.

I love everything from Number to Fear, but have not been able to get into their albums after Fear of the Dark. I've tried a few times and something just doesn't click, even the 2000's+ albums with Bruce singing again. I do enjoy some metal bands later work too such as Megadeth (although the last album hasn't clicked yet).

I'm listening to As The Silence Becomes Me right now and I must say that it's never hit as hard as it does now. I'm right in the middle of an argument with one of my supposed "friends", who claims that there are many reasons why I can never have friends. Considering that the song talks about loneliness and longing for a friend, it's hitting deep right now for that reason.

This was a great live band, Alanis and Taylor are obviously well-known but the bass player is fantastic and the guitar players are consummate performers too.

Cemetery Gates is a top 10 all time song for me. Great album and great era, but it's hard for me to listen to Pantera anymore. Too much bad blood from the breakup and I don't love what Phil has become, tho maybe he was always like that.

Phil has chilled considerably since he kicked the drugs and booze in the past 3-5 years. His interviews seem to show him in a new place.

The new QotSA. Took a few listens but I'm digging it. Production is very new-wave and sounds great. The bridge kinda just runs out of steam though.

Halestorm just went all country on us again.

Kidding aside, I'm not really a fan of this duet. The original song is okay in my opinion, but I don't think Ashley's voice fits in with this style of music. I do like the video, though. I always like music videos that are like mini-movies, where the band members are the actors and play certain roles. Also, I love Lzzy's hair in this video.

Cemetery Gates is one of my favorites by Pantera. I also like Cowboys from Hell.

I absolutely want to hear her singing! It's just that at night, I don't want to wake up my parents, and if I forget my headphones, I unfortunately have to mute the sound. It's not much of a problem, though. Halestorm is the only band that I can enjoy watching live videos of with the sound off, and we all know why.

By the way, 10000th post in this thread.
