Video Game Bonanza!
Re: Video Game Bonanza!
Shadow of the Erdtree rightfully been kicking my tail lol, but I’ve been having a blast exploring the new expansion. Anyone else play Elden Ring / get the new DLC?

When I get paid I'll be buying it. I only finished the base game last month, so it's good timing.

Re: Video Game Bonanza!
It’s a fun expansion, they’ve added a lot of new weapons and spells in it. Just make sure to level up your character using the new system (Scadutree fragments) or most bosses will just wreck you

How is it? I watched my dad play Myst when I was young, then tried it for myself in high school/college and struggled big time

A beautiful new look to an old Book of Ages
It is extremely well done. The real time video is perfectly smooth and the sound is (still) great. The game itself is just as puzzling as I remember, maybe more so as I figured I'd be smarter by now, but I'm very very happy with it.zazthespaz wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 1:57 pmHow is it? Started playing Remnant 2 a few days ago. I like it but I think it's a game best suited to play with friends because I find myself kinda lost on what to do by myself so I end up just joining random public lobbies and following people around while they do things.
I also started playing Black Myth Wukong yesterday and while I know its not supposed to be considered a "soulslike", Its the closest thing to one that I've played so it might as well be for me
its an enjoyable experience but my only gripe is there being no map feature in the game.

Re: Video Game Bonanza!
I stopped playing both Remnant 2 and Black Myth Wukong since I wasnt sure what to do in Remannt 2 anymore and I found BMW to be too difficult and the bosses too annoying for the time being so I've just been doing Space Marine 2 instead.
Re: Video Game Bonanza!
Did you try Lies of P? That's an extremely good Soulslike experience. Loved every minute of it.SHEAKENBAKEN wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 6:50 pm Started playing Remnant 2 a few days ago. It's weird. It looks crap, but is actually awesome to play. I was deeply cynical from watching reviews but I'd say it's worth a go.SHEAKENBAKEN wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2024 7:44 pmNo, I watched streamers play it on Twitch. Didn't seem like a game I'd enjoy.

Been playing Pacific Drive for a bit of a Subnautica-like (Nautlike?) creepiness via an 80s station wagon. Nicely atmospheric and the driving is good, and using the dashboard for most of the hud stuff is a nice touch. Even enjoy manually putting it in park at the beginning. Is getting a little repetitive into the late game and doesn't have the same dread-factor as Subnautica, but a solid recommend still.
For all of the hope that it brings...

Re: More like, Central No-Drive
I picked this up 2 days ago, it was on sale, I heard a lot about the mystery around it, and you posted this and seem to have good recs. ~4 hours in so far and enjoying it! Some stuff does get repetitive like turning the car on/off and opening/closing doors, scenery gets a little repetitious like floating rocks every 300 feet, but other than that, not too bad.Ubik wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 6:46 pm Been playing Pacific Drive for a bit of a Subnautica-like (Nautlike?) creepiness via an 80s station wagon. Ironically, I didn't touch my real life car for 2 days after buying this (I work from home and can walk to most places) and my car battery was dead today

Re: More like, Central No-Drive
Ah glad you're enjoying! Yeah the environments do change as you get further but there is a bit of a grindy element where you have to go to the same places sometimes. Just one bit of advice would be to not do what I did and obsess over getting every last upgrade thinking you'll need them in the endgame because... You won'tzazthespaz wrote: ↑Thu Mar 20, 2025 11:17 pm I picked this up 2 days ago, it was on sale, I heard a lot about the mystery around it, and you posted this and seem to have good recs. ~4 hours in so far and enjoying it! Just played a cool detective/windows 98 sim called the Roottrees are Dead, where you have to fill out a family tree through millennium-era Google searches. Is fun!
