Official "Star Wars" Thread (Episode 7 CONFIRMED)
Re: Official "Star Wars" Thread (Episode 7 CONFIRMED)
would much rather see a new star trek series set in the original than more star wars.
nothing to do with this thread lol. but star wars hasn't been good since episode 6.

Proof that Hollywood hasn't had an original idea in 25 years.

You know it's bad when they're rebooting Robocop.

George Lucas Reveals Destination of Disney Dollars
http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/11/01/ ... ey-dollars
George Lucas has revealed what he plans to do with the many billions of dollars that he’ll make from the $4.05 billion sale of Lucasfilm to Disney.
Speaking to the The Hollywood Reporter, a studio representative explained “George Lucas has expressed his intention, in the event the deal closes, to donate the majority of the proceeds to his philanthropic endeavours.”
It’s not yet clear where he will direct the money, be it to a new foundation, the George Lucas Educational Foundation, or one of the many charities and causes he has previously supported.
Lucas also released a statement himself, saying “For 41 years, the majority of my time and money has been put into the company. As I start a new chapter in my life, it is gratifying to devote more time and resources to philanthropy.”

Oh boy, get ready for the *ahem* innuendo a la Aladdin/High School Musical
Re: Official "Star Wars" Thread (Episode 7 CONFIRMED)
Got very mixed feelings about this, read all the books taking place after the events of 6 and there is a lot of material they can use.
If any of the old characters will come back in this movie they NEED to get the casting right though, and if they are going with a complete new set of characters (which i mean they never been on the big screen before) they somehow still need to have ties back to 6, imo.
I'm a big SW fan and i'm VERY interested how this turns out.
It will be either epic or complete shit, nothing in between. just one of those 2, i'll be there day one to see it either way

It's too much of a crutch for the entire movie industryNytestrykerZ wrote:CGI was too much of a crutch in the newer trilogy. Less of that, a coherent storyline and overall better writing are what the series needs imo.

Tough call. Can I choose? No one randomly, for sure. But some Taliban a-hole trying to murder a teenage girl, yeah, I'd squeeze that one off.abw1987 wrote:Would ya kill a man?gbruin wrote:Yeah, gotta admit, there probably isn't much I wouldn't do for 4 B.

$4 billion on a movie franchise nobody wants to see anymore of.. Or $4 billion on fixing what Sandy did to the nation's East Coast....?
Hmmm... How many trillions of debt are you in USA?

Re: Official "Star Wars" Thread (Episode 7 CONFIRMED)
If I could sell something for $4billion, I wouldn't give it to the government.
First of all, it's a drop in the bucket, comparatively.
Second, the government takes enough of my money as it is.
Third of all, it shouldn't be my problem that people in DC are fucking up the economy. I didn't vote you in, I'm not going to contribute to bailing you out.
And lastly, with $4 billion, I practically wouldn't have to worry about any kind of shit every again. Why give that up?
