And then some. Galadriel, Saruman, and Radagast were not in the book at all, haha.abw1987 wrote:Hahaha. I guess for the bigger Tolkien fans in the world, this movie was a delight. The fact that a single book was broken out into three movies means that each movie can pretty much capture every single detail in the book.

No way! I wonder how the "purists" feel about that.ALTERSTEVE wrote:And then some. Galadriel, Saruman, and Radagast were not in the book at all, haha.

Most of the purists are okay with it, because eventhough it's not in the book, it's something that happened around that time.

I saw this last night, never read the books and I watched the Lord of The Rings films a long time ago, so I'm not a hardcore fan in the slightest. I really enjoyed it, thought it was a brilliant film. My only criticism is that the ending didn't feel like a proper ending, I guess because it's a trilogy it's difficult to have a decent ending, but when the film ended I was a bit disappointed because I didn't feel like the film really concluded itself.

Well, you're right. It didn't conclude itself. It was just a convenient spot for a commercial break.BSC wrote:I saw this last night, never read the books and I watched the Lord of The Rings films a long time ago, so I'm not a hardcore fan in the slightest. Watched this last night. I didn't think it was all that good. Kinda bored me.

Or we just revive this thread. We never even spoke about the 2nd movie in here. It all went to The Movie thread.SHEAKENBAKEN wrote:Yeah. I think Jana should make one so we don't crowd this thread up.Timotheus wrote:This really turned into the LOTR thread, didn't it?

Pretty excited for Battle of the 5 Armies. But I'm super stoked for the new Bond! Can't wait for Spectre!

Bloody hell, Spectre is almost as far away as Star Wars. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME!?!?
Just looked at his IMDB page, that's nuts that he hasn't done anything since 2012.

Was actually wondering what you would think of the new Bond announcement! Love the idea that they are bringing back Spectre. I just read that Mr. White is coming back from Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. Maybe Quantum (the organization) was being funded by Spectre? or turned into Spectre? Oh the possibilities! Love me some bond!
I never saw the lord of the rings movies, but have watched both the hobbits and i really wasnt too crazy over the first one, but i loved the desolation of smaug! Cant wait for battle of the five armies!
Thanks Andy!
lolololo
Guys, come on, don't talk about other movies here
