I've listened to the new album probably 30 times over by now. I definitely think it lives up to their name. It's full of excellent guitar work as always, and DLR's voice is surprisingly good for his age.

Well, today, I've listened to "A Different Kind of Truth" in its entirety, and I got to say, and I don't listen much of Van Halen but do respect their work, and like everything I've heard so far from them, its a great album. I'm pinning this as my 3rd favorite album of 2012 behind Slash/Myles' and Tremonti's album.

Just updating the thread. They have a new live album coming out & are hitting the road. Also they just did Kimmel & Ellen & all I have to say is.. DLR needs to get his voice back in shape or retire.

I took a look at a couple of those videos. One thing, I feel a little scared of DLR at times, especially the way he twirls the mic stand at a high speed (which caused that nose injury on Kimmel), and the way he talks. I mean there are times where he sounded ok and there were times where he just were not good. That said, the Van Halen family sounded really good and enjoying themselves, out there, so that's a big positive.
