Thanks for linking this, Greg. This performance is everything I love about Halestorm live. So raw, genuine, not enhanced by special effects. Sometimes their studio work can leave me with some questions...but live, they're my favorite band in the business.

Last night.

It's been a pretty long while since they've been to Denver (which is the case with almost everyone...), and I've seen a lot of their vids in the meantime, but their stage show and performance just gets more and more pro every time. Great performance. Arejay's drum solo is something to behold. Man, the talent in that family! What great entertainers, and their musicianship as a band just gets better and better.

Glad to hear it, Greg. I'll be seeing them for the first time in a few weeks.

I saw Halestorm on the opening night of the Mass Chaos tour with Staind and Godsmack. I went for Staind, knew a little Godsmack, and zero Halestorm. But with every concert I go to, I always check out the opening bands albums or whatever, Halestorm wasn't bad, good energy, just not my thing. For a chick singing though, theyre some hard motherfuckers

I'm not a fan , don't like her voice really but i guess she/they just got nominated for an award.

'Love Bites (So Do I)’ off of their latest album ‘The Strange Case Of…’ were nominated in the Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance category for the upcoming 55th annual Grammy Awards, taking place Feb. 10, 2013, in Los Angeles.

They're taking votes for their next covers EP here https://www.facebook.com/halestormrocks ... 2305144028 . I wrote in Find The Real. I think that would be awesome and they are AB fans.

Cool idea. They seem to be getting a lot of requests for newer songs in the comments section on their Facebook page. But I voted for Grace by Jeff Buckley.

I voted for Love Song by Tesla. Just the thought of Lzzy singing that one...

Wow!! I always knew he was good just from listening to their albums and assorted live videos, but I'd never seen one of his drum solos before.

That part at the end must have killed his hands. It hurts me just to slap a cymbal once. :lol

It's a shame they don't have a better guitarist. I hate to say it, but Halestorm's guitar work just doesn't impress me at all. They need to get an EROCK in there or something. Especially next to such an incredible singer and drummer.

Joe's a pretty cool guy, but yeah he is kind if an average guitarist. It's pretty obvious the Hale's make this band what it is. I'm not sure if they're a band that really needs too much complex guitar work though.

Yeah, I agree that they don't necessarily need a Tremonti-level guitarist to turn them into a fully guitar-driven band. But even the solos on their albums strike me as pretty amateur.

Joe is a really good guy, and FWIW, he and ERock are buds. I think Joe has gotten much better from the first album to the second, too. The whole band is still pretty young, too. I expect they'll all keep getting better, which would be a great thing to see a band still improving on their third and fourth records.

Right, like Shinedown. Great melodies and vocals can carry things as everyone develops as players.

Lzzy actually does some of the solos on the albums too.

I thought about mentioning that. I know she plays the Loves Bites solo along with some others. Their riffs are pretty solid too. Greg has the right idea with the Shinedown reference. Both bands are pretty similar in that they don't need very fancy guitar work to sound good.

I love Joe. I think he does a fantastic job at what he does, and this band isn't one that needs a whole lot of guitarsterbation to be great. I feel they have about the perfect blend of instrumentation, vocals, and just overall feel. Love these guys.

Listen here Greg, my brother has been running around the house singing about American boys and I blame you and this thread. Not sure if I want to celebrate Gregmas anymore
