Hinder - Welcome To The Freakshow
8.5/10 I love all of Hinder's albums. This one is just great, I love it that it's all ballady like. I didn't really like Freakshow, Wanna Be Rich and By The Way (though I liked the acoustic version of it). The rest of it is good, real good.

Killswitch , Disarm the Descent.
8/10
Great record with Jessie back on VOX. Not quite as good as Daylight Dies but very close.

HIM - Tears on Tape - 7/10
Just a normal medicore HIM, a few decent riffs and a lot of big, pumpy choruses. Nothing really special.

Waypoint - Hollow Ground EP - 7.5/10
Waypoint is a band from my area I decided to check out. Pretty good stuff. Very ethereal sounding with lots of changes. To be honest I couldn't listen to this constantly but it was a cool experience. I was impressed and just started a new side project with their vocalist! Check them out

Them Crooked Vultures - Them Crooked Vultures. 8/10. Just a pretty fun album to listen to from time to time. Really enjoyed New Fang, No One Loves and Neither do I, and Gunman. Everything else was enjoyable to listen to, though it may not be recognizable, at first, if I hear it in my head or somewhere else.

Sevendust - Cold Day Memory
8/10
The first album with Clint back in the fold. Awesome tunes, and even the more standard ones seem to have a memorable bridge riff or part. Highly recommended...

This is the last album I've listened to, also. I was falling asleep last night when I listened to the full album, and it's pretty damn good. These guys sure know how to write big anthems.Jim wrote:30STM - This Is War - 11/10

Also, Night of the Hunter is fucking awesome.

Re: Rate the last album, you listened to.
All right, I am really going in a different listening direction going into this album.
LL Cool J - Authentic. 7/10.
Now, I found an album review on this on ultimateguitar.com and while the actual reviewer gave a fair opinion about it, the commenters did not really gave it a chance because it is hip-hop as oppose to rock/heavy metal. Since nowadays, I want to rebel against these elitist metalheads (and since I've heard that LL Cool J is actually more respectable than anyone else in this genre), I wanted to spite them by listening to this.
In all fairness and honesty, this album is an ok listening experiences. The lyrics are very clear and I liked it when LL Cool J give mentions, in the song, to the guys that was collaborating the same song with him. There were a few elements that I did not like which are basically elements of general hip-hop that I just do not like from personal listening experiences.
Since I could not resist noticing guitar music, the great parts for me was when Eddie Van Halen contributed to a few of these songs and had some good guitar sound. All in all, it is pretty all right. I have nothing against this album.

Sevendust - Black Out the Sun - 6.5/10
Well, I'm not very familiar with their previous work aside from a few tracks of their Best of Chapter One album and those 2 songs that they've done with Mark and Myles, but I found nothing really special on this particular record. There are actually a few moments like solo in Mountain or Decay chorus which are pretty cool, but nothing more. Just a common generic alternative metal album.

Re: Rate the last album, you listened to.
I would give Sevendust's Black Out The Sun 0/10
It's horrible. I just can't get into it, and quite frankly I ain't a huge fan of theirs. I like a few songs of theirs: Hope, Sorrow, Follow, The Past, Angel's Son

Lol I'd easily give Black Out The Sun a 7.5 at least. I thought it was a solid record.
You won't like an entire Sevendust record if you only like their radio singles though.
