I’m sorry but sometimes I think their lyrics are ridiculously corny.

And sometimes even the vocal melodies suck.

But yeah I’d rather listen to this band than the Pretty Reckless.

Not trying to be a prick, just stating my opinion.

Halestorm was phenomenal in Daytona at Rockville Fest. We were evacuated before every headliner on Friday and Saturday. Sunday they brought it. I have an incredible video of the Taylor Hawkins Tribute and loved it. The crowd needed them, many disappointments from the storms. They were AWESOME, thankfully I was right up front. :) They are an "Amazing Team" and it shows on stage! The crowd I was in was nothing but entertained and hysterically happy! I got some amazing shots! :D

I need to go back and give Back From The Dead another try. I listened to it once or twice when it came out and it just didn't stick with me at all. I have loved Lzzy since the first time I heard her do that live a cappella intro to It's Not You on their very first US tour, and they are such great humans, too. But this last album was like drinking from a firehose from beginning to end and it never offered a chance to breathe. She and the band are so talented that songs at the other end of their spectrum like Break In and Dear Daughter become magic, and this album was really lacking that diversity with Lzzy just going full throttle the whole time. Maybe it was just me. Let's see...

Terrible Things is the one that offers a bit of a break in the middle (really enjoy that song), and otherwise it’s pretty much straight up rock again until the closer.

Yeah, it was actually a little more accessible than I recalled. It's still overall pretty full gas from start to end, but The Steeple and My Redemption have a little more range and some more subtle moments than I remembered. The ballad in the middle is a respite from the avalanche but it is such a dark theme that it doesn't really give me a chance to breathe in and relax either.

Being a Halestorm fan from the beginning, this album is really fascinating to me and I would really love to know what was going on in Lzzy's headspace - and heartspace - at the time. There are almost no writing credits by the rest of the band on this one, as it's mostly Lzzy and Scott Stevens, so I presume this is primarily Lzzy's album. She has always been very emotionally and socially outspoken, and if not always entirely direct, she's given a lot of clues about her feelings in interviews and social media posts so maybe I need to go back and reread some of those pieces leading up to and around album release time. Either way, I'm sure this is a very personal work for her and I presume the title alone along with the full intensity of this album says an awful lot about where she was writing from.

There are a lot of interesting personalities and characters in my musical world, but Lzzy is near the top of the list of folks I'd love to sit down with over a cup of coffee and just have a chat about life.

I share your fascination and admiration for this band and miss Hale !
Live they belong to the best that I’ve seen in almost 40 years visiting rockconcerts !
Quality guaranteed each time.
I’m totally delighted to see them supporting AB again in Amsterdam next december.

Oh yeah, Wim, I totally agree. Hailstorm is awesome live and they and AB make a great touring pair. I'd love to see that duo come through the US, though the relative positions of the bands would make that unlikely I'm afraid.

Absolutely. I never really put any serious thought into which of my favorite musicians I would really like to meet until I started being a fan of (read: became OBSESSED with) Lzzy. She's definitely #1 on my list.

After watching Lzzy and Amy Lee perform live and having that one off video, I would kill to see them release an album together.

I had a scary prophecy that Lzzy Hale was going to die today. Why I say that is because today coincidentally happened to be three things.

1. The day Halestorm played their biggest headlining show to date.
2. The day Lzzy Hale outlived John Lennon, who was assassinated.
3. One year to the day when I started mega-crushing on her. Typically something bad happens exactly one year after I start crushing on someone.

Luckily, she is alive and well, and it looks like they had an amazing show. So I can now relax with the knowledge that this was just another instance of my brain making crazy connections to stuff that are purely coincidental.

I don't think she's ugly however. Great rock singer though

The new Halestorm album will be produced by Dave Cobb. He's a country producer. This isn't going to be a heavy album like I hoped.

Same guy that produced the previous Slash/Myles/Conspirators album. Seems like a good fit in that nature.

I hoped that they would hire Scott Stevens to produce this album after he co-produced Back From The Dead along with Nick Raskulinecz, as well as producing Arejay's side project KemikalFire.
