The Official BIG WRECK Thread

Post by NytestrykerZ »

Big Wreck is a rock band formed by Canadian Ian Thornley in 1994. They disbanded in 2002 and Ian Thornley went onto a successful solo career with his own band Thornley. In 2010, Ian Thornley and Brian Doherty reunited for a cross-Canada tour, playing both Big Wreck and Thornley songs. Big Wreck officially reformed and released the album, Albatross in 2012.

Recently got into these guys and love them, Albatross and Ladylike are probably my favorite, Inhale rocks too!
Would love to see them live one day but don't know if they are touring let alone Europe, any info on that?

'Ladylike' has such a sweet riff and solo. Unfortunately nothing that I've heard. They recently did a tour out west that stretched through to Quebec but no where internationally yet. You never know though where they're signed to Anthem/SRO which is the same label Rush, Brody Dalle (of the Distillers) and The Tea Party are on (All of which have large international fanbases). I hope they do spread their wings a bit though because I think fans in Europe and Oz would really appreciate them.

Albatross is amazing. I love everything about that album. Might be the best album of 2012 so far. I think I like it even better than Apocalyptic Love..

I'd be another one recommending them. I'd say they're my favorite band.

Also good post, Thrav.

Liked Thornley a little bit better. Big Wreck is really good though.

I had never listened to Big Wreck before Albatross came out, and now I'm hooked on them. Glass Room is one of the best songs I've heard in a while.

I was giving you 3 more days and I would have started this thread myself :D

'Albatross' is by no means my favourite record of the year.
'Glass Room' and 'Control' are probably among my favourite songs of the last few years.
And the best thing is, I didn't expect it AT ALL...
I also really dig the new bass player.

And to everyone wondering how good these guys are...

Ironically enough, and completely off-topic, I can't tell you how many times I've made that drive.
