I don't know if this is a cover the band did often or not, but I'm seeing where they closed the show last night with a refrain of Zeppelin's In My Time Of Dying. The whole situation is just so sad.

Confirmed as suicide. Just can't believe it.

Now that I think about it. I think it's going to be depressing to me listening to The Higher Truth album from here on out.

The way I perceived that album was that it was made by a man who has had his ups and downs in life and is finally at a point in life where he's comfortable with his life and where he is at and was able to be more intimate and crafted a strong album and feels content about it. Now in light of his passing, I don't think I can personally perceive the album the same way.

This whole thing is just not right. It's all pretty wrong and I'm just hoping it's a nightmare that we can all wake up to.

Such a tragedy. Ominous that they performed In My Time of Dying the night of his passing...

Listening to some of his stuff now, and it really has taken on an unfortunate new meaning :(

I really thought I was dreaming this morning. Opened facebook and the first news was that. I couldn't really get it. What the actual fuck, I still can't really get it

I'm so happy that I saw him on his last solo tour for the first and the last time

So sad. Almost every song he ever did now seems to take on a whole new meaning. Ugh. I can't.

It's just crazy to think how sudden it was and he for all we know seemed happy. He has a family with 3 young kids and a wife and all of his good friends from the Seattle music scene. It doesn't add up he's been through a lot and knows how it feels with Andy Wood, Layne, and Kurt so it just is odd to just off himself... I have Pearl Jam radio on Sirius XM and they play a lot of live music and one clip that always strikes me is after playing Sirens Eddie tells the crowd how precious life is nowadays and how "it" can happen to anyone...

He did Zeppelin covers and interwove Beatles, Zeppelin, etc. into other songs. So many of his songs were reactions to deaths of friends that I wouldn't take anything from the songs or lyrics that night.

I'm in the this-doesn't-add-up camp and this article makes more sense to me than earlier speculation. If the bodyguard in this account trying to get into his hotel room is the same guy I saw at his solo concerts, I can totally picture this happening.

Well, this is beautiful. Chris sang so many duets and was involved in so many collaborations and projects. What a gem. Nice how he acknowledges the other musicians before he leaves the stage too. I was so interested to see where he took his career next. He's been busy with Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Audioslave, miscellaneous collaborations, multiple charity projects, his family...

Nice memories by Nile Rodgers (they were friends; Nile posted a cute birthday wish Chris had sent him not long ago). Now I'm gonna be extra sad we never got a Nile-Chris collaboration.

Looks like they're planning a tribute of some sort at Rock on the Range tonight.

I think I remember Myles kennedy saying he had sung a duet with chris at some point but it never got released.

So sad. He and MK are my two favorite rock voices. I was just telling a friend of mine we needed to go see them next time they hit the Pageant in St Louis.

Goodbye, Chris.
