*Ex-Three Days Grace Singer's New Band-Saint Asonia*
Adam Gontier has formed a new band with Staind guitarist Mike Mushok, titled Saint Asonia. The preview sounds SIIIIICCCCKKKKKK!!!

Side note: I find it funny that in Adam's "resignation letter" he was furious about how 3DG's music became too commercial yet the clip seems to brag about how commercial they were, listing all the #1 hits they had. If he's concerned with getting another #1 he should've stayed with his old band..
Anyway....new music May 16th! Can't wait!!!!!!

In the back of my mind I just keep asking myself...
"Is he going to play 3DG songs on tour?"
I'm leaning towards yes

I'll wait until the full song is released. Right now it sounds exactly like you'd expect...Three Days Grace vocals with Staind music underneath lol.
Adam has a very distinct sounding voice. It's not so much like Myles or Corey Taylor where he can sing in different projects and adjust his style to them. I remember when he did guest vocals on an Apocalyptica song, and it sounded a lot like Three Days Grace. We'll see how this turns out though.

Staind music underneath? I know Mike will have a huge say in the product but to me it sounds exactly like something 3DG would put out, even without Adam's vocals. I'm getting a One-X vibe from the clip, but that's just me...
I just hope the music he wrote with Ben Burnley makes an appearance on this album

Kinda sounds a bit like my band's first single lol
Will be interesting to see or rather hear what this project will be like in the end.

I'll keep my eyes out at Rock on the Range on Saturday. There's an unnamed band opening on the main stage that day, and May 16th is the same day listed in that promo video. Rock on the Range also featured Saint Asonia as their band of the week, but they aren't listed on the lineup. All of that is leading to big speculation that this is the secret band on Saturday.

I could see it happening. Is 3DG playing there on the same day, though? Because I'd imagine Saint Asonia would want to play a 3DG cover or two because of the lack of songs.

Three Days Grace isn't there this year. They played there with Matt singing a couple years ago, but they aren't on the lineup this time around.

Sounds a bit too generic Rock for me but I like his voice. I'll definitely give it a chance. (horribly edited & produced teaser btw)

Well, I'm kinda disappointed truthfully
As Jared said, yes, it sounds generic
And Adam's voice in the verses sounds weak. Much different than how he sounded before
2 thumbs down

Just got confirmation they are the special band at Rock on the Range today. I'll try to check it out.

Definitely let us know how it was if you get to see them. Adam's voice, 3DG covers, new songs, etc...
Re: *Ex-Three Days Grace Singer's New Band-Saint Asonia*
They opened with the new single, and maybe it was just the energy out there, but I thought Adam sounded a lot better singing it live than the studio version shows. They played 2 covers, I Hate Everything About You plus a Staind song (can't remember which one). They played 3-4 songs off their upcoming album, and they all sounded pretty good. Everything sounded a tad 3DG-ish because of Adam, but you can tell they still have their own style. Adam's voice still sounded very powerful to me. He had one of the best vocal performances I've heard this weekend.

Dude that's awesome! Thanks for the recap!
But knowing that his voice was on par kinda bugs me about the single. Maybe they rushed the song to be released in time for the performance and used his demo vocals. Hopefully everything on the album will be polished up.
Speaking of the album, I've heard a release within the next few months. Did they mention anything?
