Idk about that. I mean, he's clearly a great singer but idk, perhaps there are singers that are better that we dont even know about. That's a different subject tho I guess.

Top 3? Hmm well I dont have enough time to think about it but i would probably place Amy Lee and the girl from Flyleaf up there. Idk, some singers are good in their own way. It's hard to compare singers from different genres like country vs rock.

If the name of this thread was "Best performer" or "Best/most influential songwriter of all time", he'd be definitely be on my list. And while he clearly was a spectacular singer, somehow I don't emotionally connect with his voice like I do with other voices.

Could you clarify what you mean by 'best performer'?

-------Also, who is one of the best singers in country music? Or in pop punk (new found glory, green day etc)? Could someone name a singer or so?

Same here. Freddie was obviously unbelievably talented, but I was never a really huge fan of Queen's music compared to the other singers/bands on my list. Thus, not my favorite vocalist of all time.
Another photobucket casualty... :(

Freedy isnt my favorite vocalist, but I admit he's got a great voice. My favorite part of the Bohemian Rhapdosy is the 'nothing really matters' part.

Queen is a really diverse band though, I feel like everyone only knows a few of their staple songs but they're so much more than that.
And Freddie was amazing.

10. Chris Daughtry (Daughtry)
9. Sully Erna (Godsmack)
8. Benjamin Burnley (Breaking Benjamin)
7. Terry McDermott (Terry McDermott)
6. Dustin Bates (Downplay, Starset)
5. Brad Delp (Boston)
4. Michael Poulsen (Volbeat)
3. Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge, Slash + MK&C, Myles Kennedy)
2. Mark Tremonti (Tremonti)

1. Layne Staley-Alice in Chains
2. Scott Weiland-Stone Temple Pilots
3. Chester Bennington-Linkin Park
4. Jonathan Davis-Korn
5. Brett Scallions-Fuel
6. Lana Del Rey
7. David Gilmour-Pink Floyd
8. Myles Kennedy-Alter Bridge
9. Travis Meeks-Days of the New
I'd say these 9 are pretty solid as far as vocal talent and skill goes. I'm having trouble picking a 10th so I'll leave it at 9 haha

It's a strange list but I like unique voices that give me an emotional reaction. They are in no particular order:

1. Chris Cornell
2. Ella Fitzgerald
3. Frank Sinatra
4. Hayley Williams
5. Ian Thornley
6. Geddy Lee
7. Dave Mustaine (in the 90s at least, not before or after)
8. Spencer Sotello
9. Myles Kennedy
10. Philip Anselmo

Glen Cambell and Johnny Cash are great choices. I must confess I don't know who Gord Downie, Gregory Alan Isakov or Iriis DeMent are.

I looked them up. They're more of folk singers. It really is a diverse lineup Dan has here.

Ever heard Glen's cover of Green Day's 'Good Riddance'? Believe it or not, that was my introduction to him. Exploring his own music was a real treat after that.

All worth checking out, Crumbso. Discovered Iris DeMent through her song 'Let The Mystery Be'. If you're a movie watcher and have seen the remake of True Grit, she sings over the ending credits. Gord Downie was the lead singer of The Tragically Hip (he passed away a few years back sadly). And Gregory Alan Isakov makes some great indie/folk music.

Yeah, it's weird but I can't say I listen to much of the genre that Alter Bridge belong to. Wish I had put Alan Sparhawk (of the band Low) instead of Bruce Springsteen now I think about it. And I feel bad not including Mr Tremonti.
