That song reminds me of BSC's Magic Mountain album... I had the same reaction back then. I don't necessarily dislike the sound but it's just... meh.
But I do like The Vengeful One and overall I am just happy that they are back :D

If comedic what was they were going for, they nailed it. :lol regardless.. it's the worst Disturbed song (lyrically) that I've ever heard.

I agree, I really dig the tune but the lyrics are just cheesy and immature. I'll just ignore them and enjoy the tune for what it is. Love the sound though. And the "Arnie" impression/ clip at the start is amusing. :lol

Then again, I think Down With The Sickness was pretty silly too - that middle section scream/rant...urghh cringe! I'll probably get a lot of hate for saying that.

I think my Disturbed album ranking runs thusly;

1. Ten Thousand Fists
2. Indestructible
3. Asylum
4. Believe
5. The Lost Children
6. The Sickness (although "Voices" is still one of their best tunes)

Another new Disturbed song off Immortalized.

Think it's MUCH better than Fire It Up; but the song itself I don't think has been released yet because there's a Facebook notification in the song at about 3:18 and it's not on the internet or iTunes elsewhere as far as I know. Only a lyrical tease has been posted by the band so far officially. But either way :headbang :rockon :cloud9

It's on their official youtube page. Its a good one! So far I think I'd rank the new tunes as this;

1. The Vengeful One
2. What Are You Waiting For
3. Fire it Up (the lyrics/theme is awful but I just love the music and melody)
4. Immortalized (it's ok but nothing special)

I'd have to agree. I used to love them back in the day but then they just became way too repetitive. And Dave does not treat fans that great from what i have seen and heard.
He hates me because i said something to him once or twice.
I earned the best nickname from him. hehehee
It's fucko! It's his "go to" word when he gets pissed at people. lol

First few times i saw them they were cool but i do give them credit for trying to stick together where as to so many bands nowadays are just calling it quits.

It's become so hard for new and upcoming bands to "make it" today.
I feel bad for them sometimes.

How's the Simon & Garfunkel cover? That's the only song I'm interested in to be honest, lol.

The S&G cover is amazing! The emotion you can hear in his voice when he sings is so sincere! I think it's easily top 2 on the album. I'm not sure if there's auto-tune in his voice during the lower-sung verses or if he's just that good at manipulating his voice, but It's tied with The Light for my favorite of the album so far. I heard the original and I think that it's safe to say If you're a fan of the original you'll think Disturbed did at least a decent job/didn't murder the song like some bands do of covers. Of course no words can describe what you'll actually feel when you hear the song, or help create a general idea of what you'll think about it anyways. (if you decide to check it out when it's available again.) I just noticed, too, how the original is a minute shorter and they say the lyrics much faster than Draiman does in the cover. I think the slower tempo helps the song more, personally, so I like Disturbed's version more.

Yeah. This is a fine enough album. Probably won't crack my fave five of the year, and there are some skipable tracks, but it's pretty consistent enough from start to finish. I'm glad to hear it. I do agree with the praise on "The Sound of Silence." I didn't think David Draiman would delivery a vocal delivery for a song like that, but he did really well in it.

Favorites so far: The Light, What Are You Waiting For?, The Sound Of Silence, Never Wrong, and Who Taught You How To Hate.

Kinda amazing how different "Fire It Up" regarding style and quality is. That song totally doesnt fit into the album.

I like that album aswell, the only thing I'm missing are amazing bridges and/or guitar riffs. The Disturbed style is so much based on the vocals but still the singer pulls of the same unmelodic vocal style in nearly every song. Not that I dislike that but it gets too repetetive after a while imo.

I'm really enjoying this album. Ok, not their best but consistently good throughtout (something Asylum didn't have). Loving "The Light" and "Never Wrong" currently. Oddly for me, the title track is my least favourite off the whole album.

Disturbed typically puts on a good show. David isn't the most energetic frontman I've seen in my one experience seeing them, but a good show nonetheless.
