Re: The Pineapple Thief
I listened to most of it and I have to admit it didn't grab me. None of the samples did much for me either so I'm not very surprised. I don't know what was wrong exactly but it didn't do anything for me.

Re: The Pineapple Thief
Well I am at more of an advantage due to seeing 5 songs from All the Wars live last December
Burning Pieces
All The Wars
Give It Back (was going to be called "Stop Struggling")
One More Step Away
Reaching Out
the latter being my current favourite within time I hope you enjoy it if you give it chance.

Re: The Pineapple Thief
I recently got into these guys a year ago and I went through a phase of listening to them every day whilst revising for my exams, as a result of that I've now gotten a bit bored of them, but they're a great band. I'm also from the same county as all of them, which is somewhat cool.
Preparation for the Meltdown is my favourite song of theirs, it sounds a lot like what a modern day Porcupine Tree would sound like without Gavin on drums.
On a side note - has anyone listened to Bruce Soord's new solo album? It's grown on me. It's quite a pretty little evening album.

Re: The Pineapple Thief
I really like some of their stuff.. Haven't listened to them in a while though.. I was quite underwhelmed with their latest album. Should take to listen to their older albums again.
I had no idea he was releasing a solo album! Looking forward to hearing that. Thanks!

Re: The Pineapple Thief
TPT have a new album out soon, and it's got the mighty Gavin Harrison on drums.
Here's a new song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxYFXw5I45A. Gavin is one of my favourite drummers so I have no doubt that I'll love this album, one of the reasons why I've so desperately wanted a Porcupine Tree reunion is to hear more of Gavin's drumming within a prog rock context, and that's what we're going to get. He's got such an undeniable unique drumming sound as well that really shows in this song.

Re: The Pineapple Thief
Oh man. That song ended way too soon. The last few bars were incredible. I hope that will make more sense in context of the album.
Gavin's drumming is amazing as usual. All the little additions on the cymbals are so tasteful. Reminds me a lot of Porcupine Tree. Maybe that's just him sounding like himself though, I haven't really followed his stuff with King Crimson.
