I actually thought it sounded alot like Maiden, at least vocally.

Another new song from Trivium. It's called Blind Leading The Blind. Honestly, to me, a good amount of it reminds me of Tremonti in terms of the aura and style which gives me that impression. I like it.

Seems like every time Shinedown brings out a new song, Trivium brings a new song of their own as well. Sound ballady at times, FYI.

I think I'm the only person who likes The Crusade over their other works. I just can't get into much of it.

If that's the Metallica sounding album then I'm with you on that one. Love the last 2 tracks.

So, the new album has been out for about a week now. What does people think about it?

I like this new album, good enough. Sure, some people may complain about the lack of harsh vocals. However, I'm not one of those guys that will complain about the lack of harsh vocals. I, for one, don't care much for it if it dominates the song. It's fine in moderation like in the songs from In Waves though.

With the direction that the album was going, and the fact that Elvis was producing it, it's easy to see that them and Tremonti would make a great co-headlining tour on paper. I don't think that thought would be that way 5+ years ago. Then again, the Tremonti solo band didn't exist back then.

Favorites, thus far. Blind Leading the Blind, Rise Above the Tides, The Thing That's Killing Me, Breathe in the Flames, and The Ghost That's Haunting You.

I love this album. I don't mind some screaming, but not all the time. This is a perfect melodic metal album for me. I love Until The World Goes Cold, and have learned some of it on guitar. But the whole album is good. I love the bonus track Cease All Your Fire.

So bland. Every riff sounds the same. I couldn't get into a single song.

Just listened to the new album today, thought is was pretty good. The guitars sounded really good, Elvis is doing some really good work with that new console. This is the first Trivium record I've ever bought, thought I would give it a spin, since they are on tour with Tremonti. Think I'll buy some of the older material, as it seems that it may be different than the new stuff.

Beware, there is a lot of growling in their earlier albums.
If you like the clean vocals, youre only going to be able to enjoy The Crusade.
Musically, In Waves and Vengeance falls are pretty much in the same style as the newest album, but there are some screams here and there.

I know it's an oldie, but I can't stop listening to Built to Fall. Love the chorus.

I love this band, old and new, harsh and clean. Currently have Ascendancy, Shogun, Vengeance Falls, and Silence in the Snow. Really looking forward to the new album!

I need to give it a fair listen. I heard the first two released songs, and they just didn't grab me.

The new album seems kinda try-hardish to me.

The bridge in Sever The Hand made me stop in my tracks and listen. Sounds like Meshuggah.

I really like the new album. Love the melodies and instruments. The (extreme) metal side of this band is just infinitely times better than the hard rock side of this band, which makes it a bit unbalanced in my opinion. The singer's clean voice doesn't always do it for me, though there are of course moments where he sounds great.

I haven't had a chance to listen to the new album yet, but in general I've agreed that the clean vocals were never as impressive as the growls. I do enjoy a mix of vocal styles in the music, and of all their records I thought Shogun did that mix the best. In Waves was pretty good if you prefer hard rock over the more extreme music style. Vengeance Falls was just a complete letdown, and Silence in the Snow was pretty boring, so I'm glad to hear positive reviews on this one so far.

I heard Thrown Into The Fire on Octane and that's the Trivium I fell in love with years ago.
