I like it a lot. I was kinda hoping for some fiercer acoustic stuff, which might have been a little unreasonable considering these are all just acoustic versions of previous songs. One of the few criticisms I have of the original album is that it seems like they resort to using electric music to get across their heavier, swooping points when they could have achieved something a little more interesting sounding if they had stuck to acoustics. I love the sound of acoustic instruments being pushed like that. But that's a minor point and more an issue with my expectations anyway, the album has been great so far. It's relaxing and makes me want to fall asleep in a good way.

Listening to it now. It's verrry good. I think I like these versions better than the studio version so far, but I'm only at History Book. Can't wait for Weights & Measures and No Rest :D

As good as these are, they can't match the studio versions for me.

Acoustic always has got something more pure.. Melodies stand out better, and you notice stuff in the vocals that you haven't heard before. "Put them old records on and admit that it's gone somewhere else" never really got me. I never even really noticed it, but after hearing the acoustic version, I think it's such a strong line..

Let's make this overtake the Halestorm thread. Sickens me that that thread is more active than this one.

Tell one thing that really bugs me about the acoustic album, they cut my favourite line from Weights and Measures

It isn't my favourite line, but I was rather disturbed as well. Don't see why they left it off.

How do people feel about Shield Your Eyes? I think it's a decent song, but it's kinda forgettable. It's probably my least favorite on the album, that or Demons. Demons gets annoyingly repetitive if I'm not in the mood for it.

Yeah Shield Your Eyes is probably my least favourite too actually. I don't dislike it, but there are better songs on the album. It's probably the only song on the album that I'd never just put on to listen to, I only ever really listen to it as part of the whole album. I'd maybe have liked Night Owls to replace it, I love Night Owls.

I disagree with both of you. Peter shines in this song. Especially when the breakdown comes in and it's just him and the acoustic guitar.

I don't know what is about it that doesn't work for me. I like it when I listen to it, but it has no staying power. I always forget about it.

Who else has to jerk back tears when Peter sings these words in Weights & Measures:

"There's no patron saint for silent restraint
Baby, there ain't no sword in our lake
Just a funeral wake"
