Top 5 Favourite Bands

What are your top 5 favourite bands/artists? Post 1 or 2 video's about these bands what makes these bands so special for you. The idea is to get a thread with a lot of cool songs and video's :)
Oh, and I suggest we don't start arguing with eachother when Alter Bridge doesn't make the #1 spot on everybody's list ;)

Here we go:

My fav. five keeps changing over the last five years. I used to pin Seether and Saliva (since I found their songs via WWE) there and now I don't like them as much anymore and I keep finding new good material that's better than them, so let's see here.

1. Alter Bridge

2. Foo Fighters

Good thread idea...

Number 5 was tough...Breaking Benjamin is friggin great too. I just figured they would get more mentions than needtobreathe, so I put needtobreathe in...

5. NEEDTOBREATHE - Great musicians. Every song is unique but they have definitely crafted their own sound...

4. Mumford and Sons - Amazing what these guys can do with the simplest of instruments. The tension created in almost every song is a credit to the immense songwriting going on here...

3. Big Wreck - Ian Thornley is a one man wrecking crew...makes a simple chord progression sound out of the box and completely owns it in almost every song. Miss the original lineup but Albatross is a fantastic album...

2. Keith Urban - I'm sure I'll catch it about this choice but I just love everything the guy does. Absolutely kills it live and is one of the most tasteful guitarists who doesn't really get any credit because of his genre. Also, his vocal style...I'll say this; I'd rather sing like Keith Urban than Myles Kennedy :shifty ...

1. John Mayer - Dude's just got it. His ear for meoldies, the ability to go from pop acoustic to blues madman to the missing Eagles member flawlessly...he just never stops evolving. Concerning the first video, I've never heard a suicide story told so poetically....

And just for good measure of total dominance...

Honourable mention: Alice In Chains

5) Porcupine Tree

4) Aerosmith

3) Megadeth

2) Soundgarden

1) Pearl Jam

I put Alice In Chains as an honourable mention, because I haven't been listening to Porcupine Tree for very long, so if they weren't one of my favourite bands, AiC would probably replace them.

Well, here are my top 5 favorite bands... I won't put Alter Bridge on this list, it's obvious because I'm here :D

5. Lost Horizon
Probably the best power metal band out there. Insane vocals, guitar and rhythm section, good empowering lyrics. My number one band for studying and taking exams :D Unfortunately they only got two albums out before they stopped working. Here's the song that got me hooked on them:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Gpjy6Pt6ng

4. Wintersun
This is a band that's a bit out of my style since it features some harsh vocals, which I generally dislike. But their music is epic, so are the lyrics. Nothing better than walking around listening to Wintersun in some harsh winter weather. Here's a perfect song:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TokCV4W_CU

3. Kamelot
Where do I start? I've loved this band for a long time. Unfortunately, their latest album wasn't a hit with me because they've changed the singer and brought in Tommy Karevik instead of Roy Khan. For me Khan is simply irreplaceable. Here's one of the reasons why, his emotion is just overwhelming (and that whole DVD is perfect):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSF7a5sEdhw

2. Nightwish
Also a band I've loved for a long time, though I wasn't really that much of a fan when Olzon was the singer. Love both Tarja and Floor though. And Floor has really impressed me since she joined NW, they're a different band in a good way. She's my favorite female vocalist now, with Tarja coming in second. Floor's version of my favorite NW song... amazing!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3brcfttchzA

1. Sonata Arctica
My long time favorite band. Although their last album disappointed me pretty much, a love of seven years is not easily forgotten. As for the albums, my personal top 3 are Reckoning Night, Unia and Days Of Grays (4th, 5th and 6th). The first two are classic power metal influenced by Stratovarius, third a bit less, and the last one is "rock" experimental crap (crap for Sonata's songwriting standards, but not really THAT bad). Here's one of my favorite live performances of a song they don't play so often (also one of my favorite songs). Myles and Tony are tied as my number one male vocalist. See why!

Edit: left the links only, this is taking forever to load :D

1. Franco - This band (or rather, artist) really got me more into music as this is how I wanted to sound, it has that reggae vibe but still with aggressive hard rock sound.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZbJp1amugM

2. Alter Bridge - I tried to find bands with similar heaviness but still melodic, couldn't find any (or not that I want :lol )
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYG3BPvFOgs

3. Black Stone Cherry - First time I listened to them I instantly loved it! Blind Man was the first song I heard from them.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zO1_cpIIzXI

4. SOJA - Alright, so, this is a reggae band. haha :lol I used to listen to political songs and such but I grew up from it and now I listen more to the music but of course I still listen to the meanings of songs. Political songs were just not fun anymore, it's like every song's the same and this band have less of it on their latest album
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TZiMvJ65Wc

5. The Mayfield Four - I like Myles' songs here especially in Second Skin album. I just hoped they had written more songs, two albums were not enough.

Well, eight months later, and my current fave five. has changed. I usually say that this list would always change, but I think this list is going to be the most likely to not change for the future. Unless, Shinedown creates an album that is more enjoyable than Skillet's Rise.

1. Alter Bridge (like there's any other option?)

My bands have stayed the same, but the order has changed a bit. John Mayer has moved up, because I've been giving him a lot of attention lately. I haven't listened a lot to Porcupine Tree lately, and because they're kinda out of the radar:

5. Porcupine Tree
4. Biffy Clyro
3. Muse
2. John Mayer
1. Alter Bridge

I'm not gonna add new video's again, because I've used the same bands as last time.

Ah, im not going to even mention Alter Bridge. Pretty sure they are in everyone's top favorite band/artist list, including mine. Good opportunity to showcase another favorite of mine.

BTW my song choices of AB probably would have been One Day Remains and All Hope Is Gone.

5. Led Zeppelin

Undisputedly one of the greatest bands of all time. Their members are just as legendary as their music. Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Bonham, and John Paul Jones.

4. Daft Punk

Prior to TRON: Legacy, I always liked them with the few songs. However, once I got my hands on that soundtrack, I fell in love with them. They are more than electronic/house/dance music. They are artists, and they are making some of the best music out there right now.

3. Queen

When I was getting into the music of the 70's and 80's, Queen was just one of those bands that my ears were glued to every time one of their songs played. More digging into their stuff, and I discovered an incredible discography of great diverse music and musicians.

2. The Jimi Hendrix Experience

I love group. That's a right, it's a band, no a solo effort. Jimi Hendrix was accompanied by the great drumming legend Mitch Mitchell and a slick bassist in Noel Redding. This group made of the best rock music ever. Their blend of blues is impeccable. Im quite partial to them if you've noticed I my profile name ;-)

1. Micheal Jackson

It goes without saying, his music is legendary. Now, when I say im fan of Michael, im not just talking about his King of Pop days. Im talking about before Off The Wall; Forever, Michael and Got To Be There are great pieces from Motown Records. His music was just so damned diverse and great. It doesn't matter what genre of music you mostly prefer; rock, metal, hip/hop, rap, jazz, country, I think everyone can love a little Michael
