New Way Out Tab
New Way Out Tab
Anyone got some stuff going for this song? It's in Open B5 I know. Been playing around with the intro/verse riff some. I'm not that great with strumming patterns, but I think this is a basic idea of what he's playing. Any corrections to what I have/chords to the chorus are appreciated!

I need to edit this some by the way, I meant to hit preview and hit submit lol. It comes out differently than it looks when you're typing it.
Edit: Now it's showing up how I wrote it. If it looks all weird on anyone else's screen let me know.

Mark meant that the shape was Open D5, but it's tuned lower. He says Drop C# songs are in Drop D every now and then.
And Fret12 confirmed it was Open B5 on the Army of 12 Facebook page.

I think its in Ghosts tuning, The open D5 tuned down a half step.

Dunno man, I think that Mark knows his tunings better than Fret 12.

Yeah I wrote that reply before I actually tried to play the song. Has anyone in here actually tried this tab...? Your own ear can tell you better than anything else. I watched Mark playing at the Social on Youtube to come up with that tab.

Re: New Way Out Tab
Unfortunately, my hearing sucks, mate. I can barely figure out AC/DC songs by ear, so don't ask me for Tremonti tunes in alternate tuning
Re: New Way Out Tab
If you noticed he used the same guitar for brains and new way out so most likely they're in the same tuning.

Apparently setlist with tunings listed from Ernies desk.

Re: New Way Out Tab
It's definitely Open D5 tuned down a step and a half (Open B5 I suppose, though I hate referring to it like that).
Re: New Way Out Tab
I've tried playing this song and I agree with Andy, this is definitely Open B5

Re: New Way Out Tab
Open D5 tuned down a half step and Open B5 are two different things, that's all I meant. And Fret12 had already confirmed Open B5 is the correct tuning the song is played in.

Re: New Way Out Tab
This. Pitch of D tuned nown a step and a half is a pitch of B. That's it.phatnonphatness wrote:It's definitely Open D5 tuned down a step and a half (Open B5 I suppose, though I hate referring to it like that).

And you'd think he would know his guitars better than PRS... He doesnt.dolo1993 wrote:Dunno man, I think that Mark knows his tunings better than Fret 12.
The mind of Tremonti is a busy thing
Re: New Way Out Tab
Nah, because Tremonti tunings are invented by Tremonti and he decided to use them, likewise PRS guitars are invented and done by PRS.Jim wrote:And you'd think he would know his guitars better than PRS... He doesnt.dolo1993 wrote:Dunno man, I think that Mark knows his tunings better than Fret 12.

Uhm... Open tunings weren't invented by Tremonti...dolo1993 wrote:
