Myles Kennedy joins Kings of Chaos in SA

Yeah, Myles is only at the end but there are some cool things said about him by Slash and Matt, which I’ve quoted below.

The host of this Hangout mentioned that there is a more “official” press release that was taking place after this. Hopefully video of that surfaces as well.

At about 25:30 the station starts playing that corny soft rap song from KC & JoJo “All My Life”. At about 25:45, Duff says to Myles something like “I thought this was a rock station”. Myles looks like he responds to that but it’s too hard to hear what he’s saying.

As Andy92 said, Myles is on around the 27:00 mark. The host mentions that he was recently added to the tour, and mentions that Myles is a “much respected man” and that he plays in Alter Bridge.

The host asks Myles what we can expect from him at these shows. He says (27:25):

Interpretive dancing, mime [joking]. You know, we’re going to play a lot of tunes from these guys’ catalog and have a good time. It’s really exciting for me, just as a fan, I feel like this kid who was plucked out and I get to stand up with guys who I have a huge amount of respect for, and I get to sing songs that I love that helped shape me as an artist. So it’s going to be an awesome experience.

The host then asks Slash (28:00) what it’s like to work with Myles. Slash says:

Myles is definitely one of a kind – great singer, really good person and generally very low maintenance [Everyone laughs].

Matt Storum then thanks Myles (28:15), saying:

I’d like to thank Myles for coming, he came in at the last minute. Sebastian pulled out and Myles is in the middle of making an Alter Bridge album. Really give it up to him because he pulled through for Kings of Chaos [crowd applauds and cheers Myles].

Duff does not look happy to be on this tour

Maybe not happy to see paparazzi or tired from the flight? Duff tweeted something recently about being annoyed at flying for a whole day and then getting rushed through the airport, think he was apologizing to fans who came to the airport.

I just noticed that Dave Kushner, rhythm guitar player for Velvet Revolver (the bald guy next to Myles in that photo) is out with them as well.

We might get a song of Myles fronting Velvet Revolver and the Illusions era GNR in the same night. That is kind of wild.

Myles has played with all those guys already through Slash, but I bet he has been excited to get to hang out with Joe Elliot and Glen Hughes. As a singer I don't know how you couldn't be.

The pictures of South Africa Slash has been tweeting it looks amazing down there.

I am not surprised Myles was OK with coming along for a few dates as a summer vacation for himself so to speak as they are only playing a few shows and it is a beautiful part of the world.
