Heavier, and maybe an instrumental!
A softer song or two would be cool. But the heavy songs should be HEAVY.

Re: What would you like? Tremonti II
i'm hoping for more cleaner vocals like in Waters Rising. No more ATIG verse effects, either, please! I think the balance of 2-3 ballads or slow songs with 10-12 heavy songs is good so that'd be great. Instrumental, longer songs, more than one solo in a song.
Re: What would you like? Tremonti II
I voted for heavier simply because that's kind of why he started this project in the first place. Most of his rejected ideas were the heavier ones.
Re: What would you like? Tremonti II
More complexity as regards song structure. Stuff on the first album is pretty straightforward.

And i definitely agree with Shea, the vox on Waters were just fantastic.

Less vocals from Erock, more from Wolfie!

I want everything that's in the options.
Also, more back-up vocals from Wolfie is always a plus. I had another thought when I read this thread earlier, but I forgot it.

Re: What would you like? Tremonti II
I would like him to go into more of his older school melodic finger picking! That mixed in with his heavy riffs would be pretty cool (Waters rising is a perfect example). Multiple solos would be pretty cool.

I like the heavy stuff. I'd also like to hear Mark's voice over an acoustic track.

Re: What would you like? Tremonti II
I just listened to All I Was in its entirety.
I would love for a heavier album. Not to say that All I Was isn't heavy and that I don't like songs like New Way Out, quite the opposite actually. I love songs like that, but I think Tremonti was meant to be a crazy heavy band and I would love to see what Tremonti can really do now that he's in his comfort zone.
I'd also like less effects on the vocals. I think the best example is All That I Got. The vocal effects on that song kind of distract from how heavy it really is. (I do love the song though).
I'd also like to hear Mark sing like he did on Waters Rising. The clean vocals and the power he showed in that song is amazing.
Otherwise, i just have one thing to say:

Re: What would you like? Tremonti II
I think there will be less effects on the vox with this one due to the fact he's more comfortable singing lead now than he was back then.
I want more bad ass riffs. Heavier is good too, while I love New Way Out, I skip it most of the time because I want something heavier or more rocking.

Garrett posted this on Facebook earlier.
I'm fine with heavy, actually I prefer it, but I hope this album flows a little better. You can really tell the first one was more a collection of riffs. Which that was fine, but now that this project is evolving into more of a permanent band, I hope the songwriting progresses into something a little more cohesive.HOLY HEAVY BATMAN!!!!

Re: What would you like? Tremonti II
I agree with you Andy, I can't really listen to All I Was very often, it's just a bunch of songs that have heavy riffs wedged into Tremonti's typical formula, with the exception of Leave it Alone, Wish You Well and Decay. The riffs need a bit more continuity as well, the riffs seem to be thrown away as soon as you get the verses, but that also goes back to the riffs being squeezed in a formula.
I was losing faith in Mark after ABIII and All I Was, but he redeemed himself with Fortress and I anticipate his solo follow-up.

Re: What would you like? Tremonti II
I think part of the reason he sort of throws the riffs away in the verses is because he doesn't want to play something too complex while he's trying to sing. I don't think there's any way he could play a song like Peace Is Broken and sing the verses at the same time. But they blended the riffs in well in both Decay and Wish You Well like you mentioned. He just needs to fit in enough repetitive patterns in the verses that he's able to sing over while still not abandoning the huge riffs.
Or they could go more of the early Metallica route and have some longer instrumental sections.

I'd love to hear more like the intro/verses of Brains. Those are my favourite moments on All I Was. But please not too many catchy choruses..
