What's that middle line? I love "their frozen hearts will feel"
Now I've found a space between
And in here I still believe
That the path we walked is still
Right here if I find the will
I've chased the greater good
And I've always understood
When I take my final stand
I will probably face the end

Sympathy my friend
Abandoned me again
Their empty minds we'll read 'em
Their frozen hearts we'll feed 'em
Honest my love
Again now you're gone
Let's take these wounds
And throw 'em all away

I hope that I find it still
I've tried and I always will
I'm lost until I see this place
It speaks words that I can't erase
All the years that I've had to wait
They have all that I had to take
But it can't change the way I feel
Cause I know what I seek is real

Grown oh so tired I'll always chase a dream
Pulled by something inside
Led by the light I always fail to reach
How it calls, how it pleads, how it shines
Where are you now my friend
Where could you be my friend
I thought he said "proudly" face the end, Ryan?

Thanks, Ryan. In retrospect I think that was one of the lyric sheets that was posted but I'm losing track of which ones they were. I also heard 'proudly' but I also heard the frozen hearts line wrong too so I'm not credible (although my line does have a nice ring to it :D )

It is proudly. I'd say it was just a typo.

Even if it's not, I'll refuse to accept the official lyrics :lol

Just bought my ticket for the Soul Kitchen show in Mobile! I'm probably snagging a spot for the artist session sometime soon as well. I've never gotten to meet Mark and have only seen him live once (with AB). I'm beyond pumped right now :rockon

The artist session is well worth it for anyone considering it, it was so cool getting to be backstage and tour the rig and hang with Mark. Not to mention the fact that the lesson was extremely helpful, I still use the exercises he gave us and I can honestly say it's made me a much better guitar player.

Glad to see someone here has gone to one! Is it actually like a hangout or is it super formal? I was curious to know if there wasn't many people at the session if a legit jam was possible and whether I should bring an electric or an acoustic!

I'd say def bring an electric. I don't think it's as much a jam session as a lesson (could be wrong). From what I've read he goes over things like his favorite warm up routines, tries to show techniques that he felt really helped him advance, and talks about his approach to songwriting and tuning (similar to the DVDs when he talks about playing around trying to find new chord progressions that work for a specific sound like if he really enjoys an open string for a song). Not sure how chaotic that is with a group of people / amps but it seems to work.

I went too. Way worth it! There was like 25 people here in LA though so that kinda sucked lol. Only cause it took longer to do the photos and made it a little less intimate. I wouldn't say its that formal. You all sit in chairs and he sits up front and teaches you guys. Brings a couple different people up who are comfortable enough and they play the section he's teaching out of an amp. Take your electric.

Someone asked about the original riff for Ghost of Days Gone By so he played that for us.

I'd love to hear that (besides that little clip on youtube with the tape recorder) Ghost has been one of my favorites now for several years. Cool that he remembered how to play the original version.

That is good to hear as I have just booked Artist Session for Glasgow :D

I am pretty rubbish at guitar having only recently taken it up again after break for marriage, children, all that stuff ;) - but loving taking lessons again and hoping to hear from him tips for practicing/exercises and more importantly how he approaches songwriting.

Super excited :D

I'm strongly considering getting tickets for the Nashville show, even though it's a Tuesday night and they're opening for Seether. Do you guys know how easy/difficult it is to meet the guys at the show?

They have soundcheck meet & greets here -- https://fret12.com/store/tremonti-caute ... t/49445184 -- but not for that Nashville date, I assume because they're the opener. Any tips on being able to get a picture with Mark and the gang at one of these opening shows?
