By the way. I just noticed that he put the Ukrainian flag on his guitar strap. Even though the flag is upside down lol

^^ Just looked at this comment now. Actually, he mentioned the following during the set. The blue and yellow colors were more for support of World Down Syndrome Day.

By the way? How did Walking Beside Me not end up on the album? What a fantastic song!

Said it before that I’m hoping for a CD-release including those two bonustracks. Or maybe an EP together with the two bonustracks from “ all I was” that never made it to CD !?

I'm gonna say that parts of it are a bit similar to the title track? Primarily those minor fingerpicking verses. I love the dramatic outro tho.

The chorus of Dying Light is hardly passable. And the chorus lyrics are super weak. Just not a very good chorus.

Bringer of War Chorus also sucks.

edit: wrong thread

I think the song Marching in Time could stand to be a little better.

Initially I wasn’t a big fan of this album at all, having heard almost half the album ahead of release really hurt the overall experience for me. It’s definitely grown on me over the months and I think it’s a solid record, despite being a step down from ADM to me. I think it’s Mark’s best vocal performance, the production is pretty solid, and there a few gems that fit right in with the best of his catalog. My top 5 would probably be:

Let That Be Us
Marching in Time
A World Away
Thrown Further
Not Afraid to Lose

Rock Never Dies

Thanks for the sig Don Harry!

I thought the song MIT could be better. Cool lyrics tho.

Fortress and Cry of Achilles are much better.

I say that because all 3 songs are supposed to be epics or longer songs.

It is indeed an album that grows on you. I didn't realise until I looked on my Youtube music account and realised I had liked every single song apart from the first two! Once I listened to it that way, I loved it. Now it's entered fairly heavy rotation.

It's really sad that we didn't get more of a US tour. I had to settle for an opening-for-Sevendust slot last fall. :(

I LOVED this album. It meant so much to me. At least I got to see a few songs from it (including the title track) live.

Its not a bad album, but like the band Bush it could stand to have better lyrics at times.
